Note to self - throwing food is a "political statement" and not assault

Jurors deliberated for about seven hours before reaching a verdict. After it was read, Dunn hugged his lawyers in the courtroom.
"I believe that I was protecting the rights of immigrants. And let us not forget that the Great Seal of the United States says, E Pluribus Unum," Dunn said after the verdict was read. "That means, from many, one, every life matters, no matter where you came from, no matter how you got here, no matter how you identify, you have the right to live a life that is free."

I am curious where this jury draws the line? Sandwich, drink, drink in a bottle, stich, rock, brick. At what point does what you are throwing become unacceptable? Or is it that it's OK to thrown things at ICE but not other people?
What if I threw a sandwich at an immigrant? Is that OK?

I would like to have seen the jury instruction. Surely it says something along the lines of "an unwanted touching with an object."

as stated earlier it should have argued as biological threat to officer as contents could be portrayed as harmless till chemical interaction is initiated ?
