OLOL looking to spend $50+ million on naming rights of new LSU arena that won’t even be owned by LSU. This whole arena proposal seems like some insiders will have their pockets lined nicely. Shouldn’t OLOL use these funds towards lowering hospital costs instead of an arena?

Maybe they're looking to dump some cash so they can remain a non profit

Who knows

Because OLOL has always been a laundering outlet for LSU.

I get this, kinda, for things that need advertising... but hospitals don't really depend on advertising so much as necessity and proximity. So what's the point?

That’s libelous and I hope you are sued into bankruptcy.

OLOL is much more than an emergency room.

something is not right I mean think of ALL the children in medical need that 50 million could help!

Hospitals advertising at that level are like Landry's litigation attorneys--I know ambulance chasers

LSU does not need a new arena. The pmac is adequate enough for how much LSU basketball draws.

Hospitals, even the ones with a "non profit" label, are big business. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

I was born at OLOL. The old location near the capitol. That's all I got.

There is no greedier business out there than a “non-profit” hospital.

It’s a huge business these days and they are playing major defense against Ochsner. They are taking their brand and their visibility a lot more seriously now than 10 or 20 years ago when Ochsner wasn’t in the picture in BR. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t try and get a jump on naming rights just to prevent the competition from doing it first.

You and the other retard should be publicly caned for bringing your D vs. R politics into it.

The fact of the matter is that a children's hospital spending 50 million dollars on naming rights for a sports stadium should mean whoever is involved spends life in prison. This is pathetic.

What an abhorrent development. People should hang.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true, especially when it comes to the services/specialties that make the most money for hospital systems.

The emergency room might be all about necessity and proximity, but that’s not what’s paying the bills.

Who chooses a hospital based on arena naming rights? Most people go where their doctor is credentialed. Most people are referred to those doctors by other doctors.
