If we can't have Saban or Kiffin, I say we roll with a young up and coming coach who is hungry to make a name for himself.

But it needs to be someone who understands and is tough enough to handle the job.

And preferably someone from the South.

Verge literally just said he wants a guy that’s had head coaching experience due to the magnitude of the job.

The fact that we have Tennessee fans floating his name to LSU should let you know that we do not want any part of him.

If we go the coordinator route we really need to consider someone with more than a half year experience doing it. Need to take off the purple and gold glasses, would/is Shepherd being considered by any other major program.

How do you know about his x's and o's? He is a 1st year coordinator who is running the previous coach's defense. He was hired at the Lions for continuity. He's never implemented his own defense, much less proven he's ready to run an organization.

I love Kelvin, but he would most likely be a horrible failure, and i have a feeling he would tell you he is unqualified. Being an ex-Tiger player should not even be considered as part of the equation.

All in on Ken Dillingham. 35 years old, experience, successful already, ready for the next big step. Should be able to handle it. ASU was in the dumps when he got there.

I'd be intrigued if you did it

But firing 10 win Kelly to bring in Eric Morris would be quite the gamble

I've seen people speculate whether they could pay him 2.5 to come be an OC

We could hire him as interim and then remove the interim title. Problem solved.

If we are going with someone younger with head coach experience, I want Eric Morris.

He might be my favorite after Kiffin. I'm just not sure he leaves ASU.

The magnitude of the job as in him specifically saying the head coach manages over 140 staff members and over 100 players. Yeah, he’s targeting an experienced coach. Big boy out west isn’t donating all that money to clear up all of this mess to hire a head coach from some assistants or an internal promotion.
