Marshall unveils special helmets to honor plane crash victims

They do this every year, but this year’s version might be my favorite.
Honoring the 75 lives lost in the 1970 plane crash. They’ll wear them during their game this week against James Madison.

I liked We Are Marshall. The football was bad technically but the rest was good.

Wife's cousin was on the plane. He was an All American at VT and a coach for Marshall at the time.

I was a graduate assistant in the athletic dept department at Marshall and traveled once with the football team. My boss sat down next to me, slapped me on the leg and said “don’t worry we are 131 and one on these flights.”

Hurts my heart to even think about a college football team dying in a plane crash. Very nice tribute. Such a tragedy. 1970 and it still feels too soon.

For some reason this plane crash just six weeks earlier has virtually been forgotten over time. ; Wichita State plane crash in 1970

That would make it more realistic since they had to use regular students to rebuild.
