Have you been since his son redid it in the past couple of years?

Michelin definitely favors fine dining, nine course tasting menu type restaurants when it comes to awarding actual stars. But if that’s what you’re looking for everyone I know who has been to emerils since they redid it says it’s incredible.

Yep pretty much everything you see involves money, paid something for a good review, or received free food in exchange for a glowing review.

My favorite is the Bayou Choice Awards the Houma Courier does.Every year they get different advertisers to proclaim they were selected as best what ever if you get enough votes. The joke is that unless you advertise in the paper you pretty much ineligible to win.

Sometimes they may even carve out a field so one can appear to win just because they want everyone to appear as a winner.

That is how you know almost all awards are fake or very suspicious.

Not going to argue the merits of the New Orleans places, but here’s why I think you may be right. New Orleans got 3 starred restaurants. Austin, TX got 7, including 3 BBQ joints. Do the standards differ from city to city? Why would people think these are meaningful ratings?

Emerils is good, but it’s no where near the best New Orleans has to offer. It could be the best restaurant in most cities, but it’s not the best in New Orleans. There are several that are better, traditional, and non-traditional.
