Kelvin Sheppard vs Joe Brady

This is not a discussion of who we actually want vs the entire pool of possibilities. This is only a discussion of gun to the head of having to hire one or the other. Who would you prefer and trust most to build our program into a respectable powerhouse again in this new age collegiate landscape?

All things equal, u take the offensive coach

Seems like an advantage for sure
Sheppard seems more of a leader of men, hard work by example, relates to players but may know how to hold them accountable for their actions. Pretty tough choice tbh

Probably gives you an edge in QB recruitment if I had to guess. An advantage at QB is the ultimate equalizer. Guys like Saban got great QBs but that's not the norm

It’s not even a discussion

Sheppard
I say this because all reports are that Brady didn’t like the recruiting and other things that went into the college game. He would probably leave if he was successful.
But all things being equal, I’m always taking the offensive guy.

he is calling plays for an NFL defense

Brady, there are more good DC's than there are offensive gurus. Brady is a guru and would recruit fantastic offensive talent that wanted to play in his system. All he has to point to is the top NFL receivers and who coached them at LSU.

I think he’s more than just a rag rag leader of men coach
that may not have been what you were getting at though.

stupid hypothetical. when they are not hypothetically even options. Joe Brady is NOT a college coach. how many times does this need to be said.

I wasn’t trying g to dis his defensive abilities. I was giving a compliment to what appears to be his personality that comes across as authentic but hard work preparation
