If you want Kiffen but hate the idea of a Heupel hire…

1. You are bad at math.
2. The things you like about Kiffen have nothing to do with successful football coaching.

Why can't people spell Kiffin's name correctly?

So, if someone has an opinion that’s different than yours, it’s automatically wrong. Thanks for the update.

I'm pretty sure >63% of people here don't even brush their teeth, so there's that.

What exactly do you base a football hire on?
Record?
Experience?
Statistical success on the field?
None of that is opinion.
Opinion is…”I think he is funny on Twitter.”

If you like Kiffin and what he would bring as an offensive minded head coach, you should also like Heupel. They are very, very similar.

Tbh, Heupal was a pretty good qb(before hamburgers and hotdogs ). I'd take him all day. His innovation on offense and his ability to get good qbs is good for LSU.

Yet the same baws can perfectly spell Heupel. It’s a weird trope.

I would take either one. Prefer Kiffin but I wouldn’t be mad with Heupel

I spell his dad’s name correctly.
He deserves respect.
I think Lane is a spoiled trolling con artist.
He makes really dumb choices in games.
There is a weird social media/fan obsession with him that is way beyond his success.

Lane Kiffin has been the HC at Tenn, USC, and Ole Miss. He rehabbed his career under Saban as the OC at Alabama where he ushered in the modern offensive era in the SEC. That is all to say - he has plenty of experience on campuses where expectations are sky high, he has played the glad handing/political game with big time boosters & AD's, and he has experienced adversity in his career and has bounced back from it. He has recruited from coast to coast. Of his 12 full seasons as a HC 6 of them have gone for 10+ wins.

Taking nothing away from Heupel, Kiffin is the safer bet.

I used to feel the exact same way about Lane, specifically as it related to his approach with Jamarcus in Oakland. Lane eventually ate his own humble pie somewhere along the way, and has actually turned a loser arse school like ole piss into a contender. NO SMALL FEAT.

Kiffin definitely has more experience, and honestly winning 10+ in 6 out of 12 seasons as a head coach is great, but so far he’s yet to make the playoffs or win anything substantial as a head coach. He drops some games he shouldn’t each year, and does make some boneheaded decisions on 4th down, BUT with all that said I’d GLADLY take him or Heupel over what we’ve had.

I think Kiffin does more with less. And Kiffin’s personality would fit Baton Rouge better

Agreed. Heupel is better and doesnt have the baggage. people that want Kiffin are the same ones that enjoy LSU having a cartoon character coach like Miles and Coach O. Same reason our state politicians are all grandstanding idiots and not serious people.
