Upgrading TV’s - Black Friday sale

Currently have a 50” Samsung Q80.
Like it. But need something to mount on the wall to make room for some new furniture and the 50” is too small.
Thinking 65”. But the room has a lot of windows / light. Need something that won’t catch a bad glare.
Any recommendations?

My sony OLED catches a bit of glare, but not too bad compared to my older LG. When it's dark out, like this time of year, nothing compares to it.

You need to go into a Best Buy at look at the TV series (not necessarily exact size) and figure out which line has the glare resistance you desire. I have a 3 year old TCL 4 series that's just fine with a lot of windows.

Mini LED is your answer, the higher end models are reasonably priced and have very high peak nits to handle bright rooms well. And I wouldn’t even look at a tv under 75” (or even 85”), you’ll 100% regret going 65”
*my wife was pissed when the giant arse box the 85” came in, but after a few months even she admits how awesome it is and is glad we went bigger than 65”.
I’ve been very pleased with my Hisense U7N I got last year. The U8 series is even better
But the 7 series was the sweet spot for price last year

If you ever wanted that 100in screen there is one at Costco for 1699. I believe it’s a Hisense, but don’t quote me on that. I don’t know the specs, but it looked good enough in the store for me to try and justify the purchase, lol.

This is utterly room specific. In a dedicated TV room, sure. Or in a family where TV is their primary focal point, probably. But in a room where the TV is just a part of the room and not the focal point? 85” would look very silly in all but the biggest of rooms.

Finally had a chance to go to Best Buy last night.
Think the Samsung QN90 is the winner. $1700 for Black Friday.
Considered the Sony Bravia 7 too for about the same price. But, going with the Samsung model because of the bright room.

I’m intrigued by Samsung but no Dolby Vision is a deal breaker for me only because I use Apple TV 4K box and have more than 500 Blu-ray and 4K discs to keep me happy.

Yeah, I’ve never had Dolby vision to compare.
Mainly watch sporting events vs movies. Use Hulu to watch TV. How is Apple TV?
What kind of TV do you have that supports Dolby vision? Good stuff ?

Just picked up: LG - 48" Class B5 Series OLED AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025)
For an extended monitor to mostly stream ESPN and YouTube... not really high end content. Totally satisfied but it's not going to be used for distance viewing. Mostly a few feet away while at a computer.

Pretty much every brand supports Dolby Vision except for Samsung who pioneered HDR-10 and HDR-10+ and won’t accept Dolby Vision.
Dolby Vision is proving to be slightly better and is hurting Samsung sales with discerning viewers.
An Apple TV 4K box is superior to all other versions except for the more expensive NVIDIA shield box. And the Apple box is full of good features and perks. It produces a gorgeous picture and is easy to set up and learn.
If you are thinking about an Apple box, wait until Feb. when the new version comes out.

Yeah the lack of DV is a pita on my Samsung frame. Have to always make sure I'm grabbing movies in HDR10 format.
