I usually buy some andouille. But curious as to what others, from south Louisiana, do for sausage in their red beans and rice. Brands you like. Sausage. Thank you.

It’s really whatever you want to try, honestly.
Every brand is going to be named here. You can make a good red beans with any of them. Some will swear on brand X being necessary and brand Y being terrible.

Yup but like reviews on Amazon you start to pick up trends. What brand do you buy?

Made in Mississippi. Either the green onion or the regular

Excellent choice, and it's really smoked. I usually use a combination of Rabideaux's and Bourque's hot.
I like the deer / pork mix from Rab's

It's one of the only mass produced smoked sausage that actually tastes like pork, garlic and green onions instead of the nitrate & preservative fake smoke chemical baths that most commercial sausages sit in for weeks.
It's also a great price at Sam's Club, around 4.25 a pound if I remember correctly. It's available at select Wally Marts but in smaller packaging and higher price

Ayoyelles has some good sausage and I hunt in Plaucheville area but can’t get up there before I need it. Live in Carencro.

Start with this one. Stop with this one so you never decline in quality.
Heed my advice, if you're in BR and shopping for the best smoked sausage/andouille, head west, not down river.

I make my own Andouille and that is what I use in beans, gumbo and jambalaya.

Rabideauxs is constantly recommended. I see its available all over Acadiana.
Can anyone tell me if it can be found anywhere near BR?
For years when I'm over in that area I've been bringing home Bourque's sausage and boudin.

Lots of great choices in South Louisiana.
I have a rotation of about 5 different places that I use.
