You don’t have to have a mobile QB.

You have to have an athletic QB. Watching games today and UGA and Tennessee don’t have what I would call true mobile quarterbacks. However, they run well enough at the college level to pick up a few yards here and there and to keep people honest.

Nuss simply cannot run. The visuals of him scrambling against Carolina and trying to make it to the sideline or running laterally against A&M at the goal line were just sad.

Never again can we have a QB who is a statue. That era of football is over.

True - mostly.

And those QB’s are 100% healthy.

Gunner Stockton literally sealed the game with a designed run play today and has 7 rushing touchdowns on the season and averages right around 5 yards per carry. If that’s not a mobile qb idk what is

No and that’s what’s most frustrating.

He actually can and on occasion he has shown it.

For some reason he just won’t do it

Having an OL that is something above pop warner flag level also would help.

I agree. It’s infuriating but won’t run is the same as can’t run in his case.

Iowa State's Becht fits that description also.
But in all fairness to Nuss he's been a victim of horrible OL play (on coaches)
Game in Game out it's been a plague.
I guarante you it's in his head every single snap.

The real kiss of death is to run an RPO-heavy offense with no running game and a non -mobile qb.

There are teams that get away with it with a solid run game and pocket passer. But you can’t do it with neither.

Oh, he can run and he is pretty quick. He just refuses to and made no off-season changes. Mett was a QB who couldn't run. He was just slow as hell.

Also, Nuss' mechanics in the pocket are atrocious. He backpedals and doesn't use his feet to escape the pocket and either buy time to throw or take off.

You just described a mobile QB which you do need you don’t have to have a true running QB and your right Nuss is a statue.

Nuss hasn’t proved to anyone when he is on the football field that he can run or even escape a rush.

Let's be real here, Nuss is Trash. No deep ball accuracy, no scrambling ability, he just don't have that dog in him. MVB just looks better from the lil time we saw him play, he needs to be the starter for the rest of the season. The Nuss Buss is broke down on the side of the road in Lake Charles.

This.

You don’t have to be a Jayden Daniels but at least be a Matt Flynn.

If Ju’Juan Johnson started at QB LSU would go undefeated for 3 years

Agree. Joe Burrow wasn’t slow but he was no JD… however he was DEADLY with his legs. There were a lot of games where he was just as deadly as JD in his own way.

If there was any hole in the defense he would see it immediately and make them pay.

Nuss just sucks.

We've seen him run and pick up some first downs and significant yards. But it's just not something he ever did enough last year or this year up until now.

Escaping an actual collapsing pocket though due to the pass rush is a different issue. He just hasn't done that. Backpedals and then collapsed for a big loss each time.

Yea I’m surprised yet not surprised at the same time that Frank Wilson is just going to continue the narrative that Nuss is still and for some crazy reason should be still the starting QB. You gotta think Nuss will be on a shorter leash now if he just continues to go out there and look like arse drive after drive after drive. I would hope Frank will at least give MVB a shot while the game is still in reach.

Burrow is a pocket passer but was a dual threat when he needed to be

You don't have to be Lamar Jackson. You just have to be mobile enough to elude the rush
