Of the Gainesville Sun times. Long time Gator reporter, beat writer, insider. He believes Lane stays at OM. Believes they break him off and he doesn’t HAVE TO win a title there. FWIW.

I will not be the least bit surprised if he stays at Ole Miss.

If I was to bet I’d say he stays at ole miss for now

This was always the most likely outcome and it’s simply because of timing.
If OM wasn’t going to make the playoffs…he’d be gone.

I think hes got it pretty good at OM, I really wanted him last go round when we hired Kelly.
I think it's likely he stays there. Expectations arent quite as high there id imagine, since they havent won anything in 60 years or whatever.

I think lane stays but if Pat Dooley says it I’m beginning to have second thoughts

Drop a bag, make it rain, handsomely rewarded, a significant increase in salary

I wouldn’t blame him. Why Chase being the next Saban or Spurrier when you can stay put and be the first Kiffin.

Lane may stay at OM, but Dooley doesn’t know anything. He’s right though in the sense he won’t ever win anything substantial at OM and their fans won’t mind.

Daddy Saban told him to stay at Ole Miss

Ole Miss lose to a hungry USCe team then the temperature starts to rise

Dooley doesn’t know anything.

Lane wanted to leave after 2021 or 2022. I think he’s fine to stay and build there now.

Dooleys a douche. Represents Gainesville well.

Kiffin wants to win multiple titles.
Doing it at ole miss is going to be hard but it’s doable. Just buy bigger, faster, smarter players. His issue will always be getting that caliber of talent in state on a consistent basis. He’ll have to rely on the portal a lot and that brings culture issues.
Lane can coach em.
They can do it and if he sticks with ole miss, he can earn a considerable legacy which he also wants

I don’t see any reason he leaves Ole Miss unless he takes another shot at NFL. He has everything he wants in College ball at where he is at.

Given Landry’s comments is it really surprising that people are backing away?

I honestly think he stays there.
If he makes the playoffs once every 4 seasons he won’t even have to win a title. They will put a statue of him outside the stadium if he stays for 15 years.
