Now they have sports directors from local TV stations making pleas to end it.
Wonder if they graduate every kid there too.
How soft are folks in the DMV? The poor guy who made the video had to put a disclaimer in his X post.

He forgot to mention it will make his job a hell of a lot easier to do in December if he's not having to drive to multiple locations in the area when it's snowing.

Didn't watch the video.
How does that even work? Do they play until February?

Every sport in Ohio beside football, every team makes the playoffs.
Not sure why this is a big deal.

Because the postseason is something that should be earned, not given out like a participation trophy

Does every other sport in LA get every team in?

In most, if not all, other sports, teams can play multiple games/week. Can't really do that in football. I mean, you can if you don't care about the athletes playing.

Louisiana is almost like that. You have 2-8 teams making the playoffs.

That's a lot of academic ineligibles in the playoffs.

Yeah, a lot of teams are down players by the end of the season, due to eligibility issues or injuries.
I say this from experience, but if you're on a small crappy team that's experienced some attrition, most guys and their parents are ready for the season to be over. Who wants another week of practice and travel just to add one more embarrassing game to the loss column?

Well the MSSAA would lose money if they went back to the old way,,and that's why every team will continue to make the playoffs.
In MS, 4 teams out of each district make the playoffs in every sport. Most districts, regardless of sport, don't have 4 teams with winning records. But the MHSAA can charge more for playoff games and they get a large cut so it's not changing anytime soon.

Every 4A-6A school in Kansas makes the “playoffs”. There are only 32 teams in each classification, so it’ll end the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Teams will play their seasons and week 9 is seeded based on results. There will be a few 8-0 teams hosting 0-8 teams tonight.
8-man through 3A still play by the traditional playoff format. There are a lot more of those teams in the state.

Wrestling is the only sport in the LHSAA that doesn't have some qualifying process, but there is a proposal this year to change that.

the term "covid kids" is real

There was one state that did this with random seeding, but I forget which on. Meaning a winless team could be hosting an unbeaten team in the first round.
