But when the Louisiana Governor fires the LSU AD a coach candidate doesn’t even know who his boss will be.

When the Governor becomes the chief person picking the new hire that runs off some potential candidate, it’s just a question of who. .

Bottom line, this has gotten pure political and will be part of Landry’s legacy.

So glad we don’t need the governor to torpedo our football program.

We’re more efficient.

It might come back to bite him, but he was determined to take down Woodward when he had the chance. Woodward started out as a lobbyist, and came back to Baton Rouge because he thought the AD job would be a good launching pad for a political career, particularly a run for governor as a Democrat. So, while Landry may come off as a moron, Woodward is no innocent victim in the political game.

At least for you LSU fans you should at least be happy that the governor choosing a coach isn't a Democrat. If that were the case, LSU would be limited to only DEI candidates.

Of course Louisiana would turn this into a politically charged spectacle of shitestepping

He’s right about the taxpayers being on the hook for a ridiculous buyout if TAF doesn’t get the funds.

He's just scared Woodward will get LSU into a 115 million dollar contract.

To be fair, Woodward was playing in that playground first by trying to get his guy in at Pres. and actively against Landry's. He kinda bought that smoke. Plus he's a liberal and Landry's whatever the hell he's supposed to be.

And Woodward, Kelly, and Nussmeir are in fact all represented by the same agent. Which opens up all kinds of questions about keeping a hurt QB in too long.

LSU is one of the few SEC teams that I have always liked. Joe Burrow and the 2003/2004 LSU defense, not so much.

There will be an interim AD, right?

Fixed the spell check for you.

You’re going to see a full court press from the media to paint Woodward as an immaculate pro just doing his job. Dellenger wrote about Woodward’s political skills but tried to pretend he wasn’t a partisan Democrat. The fix is in.

Reminds me of when Popes used to depose kings and emperors and release their subjects from their loyalty oaths.

Well the last time we hired a coach we had a democrat as a governor and he *gasp* didn’t grandstand his way into the coaching search.
