After listening to Landry on AFR

Is it as simple as someone telling Landry: “Ok, you’re right. We’ll make sure (legally) that there’s absolutely no way under any scenario in the future that the taxpayers are ever on the hook for a buyout. With that, will you respectfully please quit talking about this and step away from this process?”
He is so damn stuck on the taxpayers being stuck with the buyout. And while he may be right “technically” in the real world they are not. Of course the state doesn’t pay the buyout. I’m sure there are legal/contractual ways to make him feel assured of that in the future.

“Listen, emphatically, I am not picking the coach,” Landry said. “That is not my job. The only reason I’m really involved, Pat, is because this contract that is currently between the state of Louisiana, the LSU System and Brian Kelly leaves the taxpayers of the state on the bill. There’s misinformation out there.”
Some of you need to just go get some fresh air.

Should have started with that

It’s a technicality. Give us an example of a state paying the buyout
Posted on 10/30/25 at 4:37 pm to crazyLSUstudent
Exactly. But the reality is he is creating unnecessary problems over this “technicality” that he feels is important.
Jesus can someone sit him down and say “you’re right, we will eliminate the technicality. Are you happy now?”

He could have accomplished communicating this WITHOUT going public. He's now tied himself and his reelection to the next LSU head football coach. Hope it's a good one.

He knows good and well that TAF pays for it and that the taxpayers never would be on the hook.
He’s just trying to score political points with everyday idiots who are too damn stupid to understand how it works.

His ignorance is astounding.

After listening to him, I’m actually not sure he even knows that it would never be the state paying for it.
I actually think in his mind he legitimately thinks the state would be on the hook for it.
In other words, I’m starting to think he’s really that dumb.

I woudl argue that insuring any buyout isn’t publically funded only makes it a stronger buyout.
this is something he could have insisted on behind closed doors but he’s a fricking spotlight whore

It does seem like he has a history of that.

It's not arrogance, he really is that stupid.
His IQ might, might be 90.

Here's why the Gov is interjecting himself into the conversation and acting like he's taking up for the taxpayers:
In contrast in 2023 a lame duck JBE had approval rating of 54%
quote:
BATON ROUGE, La. (NEWS 15) — Gov. Jeff Landry is facing declining approval ratings across Louisiana, including in Acadiana, his home region. A new poll by JMC Analytics and Polling revealed that Landry's statewide approval rating has dropped to 39%, while in Acadiana it stands at 45%.

He's not gonna shut up until he gets Woody out. Woody is a liberal and he refused to rehire Will Wade, which Landry wanted.
He ordered the board to fire him and they refused. He will order the new President to do it as well. We'll see if the President does his bidding or not.
Maybe after Nov 4th he'll shut the frick up.

As someone who has personally dealt with him, I do not believe that people truly get how big an idiot he is.

This is my issue. I get that he doesn’t want the taxpayers to be on the hook, even though that would never happen regardless of the technicality. But handle that behind closed doors and stop being an attention whore.
I’ve said it from the beginning with this idiot, he’s just as bad as virtue signalers from the other side.

He is not a bad guy.
But as you know people that have dealt with him all say the same thing...limited.

If he fires Woodward without cause the taxpayers may be on the hook for the bulk of his contract, more than $6 million.

Landry is only stuck on fricking attention
