Know someone who's paying $28,800 per year for health insurance for a family of three ($2,400 per month). Probably paying just as much or more for his mortgage.

Millions of illegals using the ER as primary care.

This was always the plan. Break the system and replace it with government run healthcare when it crashes down.

$2400 per month is on the expensive side for sure. But not by much. $1,800 to $2,000 is the norm for family coverage.

Try $40K. It's outrageous.

As a business owner, this has become my single largest overhead expense. More than worker's comp and general liability.

And I pay 80% of my employee's premium and some STILL can't afford it.

Self insurance is the only way.

Just spent 2 nights in the hospital. Admitted through the ER. Blood work, pain meds, echocardiogram, X-rays, etc.

Received my CASH BILL $350 total - discounted from $3800 for NO INSURANCE.

My medications are cheaper through Cost Plus or GoodRX without insurance.

Just another FRAUDULENTLY CONCEALED side effect of Odumbf*ck care.

How else did people think they were going to cover all of those Odumbf*ck voters with FREE platinum coverage health insurance.

Not only don’t they have to pay a fricking dime, now they get to jump to the front of the fricking line.

And they fricking knew it and lied about it from the very fricking beginning.

Odumbf*ck care is nothing more than socialized medicine through the back door.

The system has been broken for a very long time

Universal healthcare would be a vast improvement

The system is broken now and a scheme to suck wealth out of America

Every drug they advertise now is for some weird skin or gi tract disease caused by processed food and vaccines

The heart pills cause dementia so you can pay the nursing home

We need to go back to the good old days when you laid your pick down and left the coal mine for the last time and died 2 years later from the black lung. America was strong then

Insurance is the problem

I had to have some dental work done a few years back. I did it while I was in between jobs and saved a ton of money by NOT having insurance.

To be fair. Blue Cross are 1 of biggest dirt bags in the industry. And have always been that way.

Why did they need to leave the coal mines at all? Just work down there until you drop dead. At least you'd then be useful for the last 2 years of your life. Even then, people were getting soft.

"Universal health care" doesn't mean anything. That could look like about 20 different mechanisms.

And to your point, probably not.

No, its not some grand conspiracy Its just a poorly designed system.

For profit healthcare companies and insurance providers are extracting massive amounts of cash from the consumers. This is made worse because the government pays for a substantial amount of healthcare for people. The hybridized approach is the issue.

Things would actually be better than they are now on a single payer system, and it pains me to say that.

You either go that route, or go full privatized with 0 government input. A hybridized model does not and will not work.

There are Christian-based insurance-like bill sharing outfits that run roughly 1/3 of that price for a family. I've used them while self-employed previously. They require a declaration of faith and there are things they won't help with- for example, they won't cover out of wedlock pregnancies and STDs, so OT ballers are out of luck. Your mileage may vary.

Meh, the experience of other countries teaches otherwise. If you’re young and relatively healthy, it’s fine. But imagine needing serious care and being told you have a one year wait.

True but before we left the gold standard you could stuff money under your mattress every week and it’d be worth something in the future
