Woodward is an embarrassment to his profession

I know some will immediately bring up Johnson and Mulkey and talk about the national titles and Woodward is the guy who hired them. Okay, great job, but let's talk reality.
The reality is football is the main course 24/7, 365 days a year and baseball and women's basketball will always be a side dish. Sure, we all want LSU to win NCs in every sport, but the reality is football is the main course that feeds the rest of the sports programs. Period!
When you take off the purple sunglasses and look at the facts, it's clear, Woodward has failed LSU and will now cost them $54M to buyout his contract. Sure, a booster has allegedly stepped up and said he would foot most of the bill, but the problem is no one would have to step up and eat the bill, if Woodward would not have negotiated this ridiculous deal.
Woodward is now responsible for writing the two worst college football contracts in history that, when it's all said and done, will cost LSU and Texas A&M almost $130M to get rid of its football HCs. What happens next time a booster isn't able to foot the bill?
It's time Woodward follow CBK's footsteps and arrive at LSU about 4 a.m. tomorrow morning and clean his office out before he goes off and writes another ridiculous contract that will only cost LSU millions more!
Maybe he can call his buddies CBK and Fisher to play around of golf, because I hear they have a lot of time to play golf. Of course, thanks to Woodward, they have plenty of money to pick up the tab. He's gotten pretty good at other people picking up the tab!

I mean, why write so much about this if you don't even know the basics of what you are talking about?
The Jimbo firing would have been pennies compared to what they paid based on Woodward's contract. The next AD gave him the raise and extension.

All of this shite is insanely embarrassing and I have concerns about the future of this organization.

You don’t even know what his main job is!
It’s to fund raise and keep lsu profitable/in the black.
Hiring coaches is secondary.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

That's fine and understandable. When you decide to take your purple sunglasses off, the numbers don't lie and you will see that Woodward is the biggest expense at LSU, which is why even the state governor said Woodward would not have anything to do with the next hiring!

Woodward gave Jimbo the original insane contract of 10 years $75 Million FULLY GUARANTEED. Unheard of at the time. The A&M Board of Regents signed off on the extension. You know what he paid Kelly and you don’t think Woodward would have extended Fisher?

Landry is firing him so he can fill the role with his own yes man. Landry doesn't even know how the contracts work. He keeps talking about how the tax payers are footing the bill. They don't.
Jeff Landry is not doing this because he likes LSU or cares about the people of LA in any way. Why can't any of you retards get that through your head.

The guy is not above criticism, but could you at least get your fricking facts straight?

Woodward only gives extensions after championships. That's pretty well documented.

For better or worse.. I'll give him credit in the fact he went fishing in deep water and got his man both times... yeah, yeah, bad contracts... but its what most will wish for the next head coach...
edit: I dont think hes perfect but hes not the idiot a lot think he is..

Sure when you’re talking the budget side of an athletic department. But I enjoyed the hell out of the baseball national championship and don’t care if it didn’t get us any money budget wise. This is not me defending Woodward this is me defending that the other sports don’t matter. They absolutely do.

Doesn't matter how many times they're corrected, they just don't care to get it right.

It’s clear you have no purview of executive management responsibilities and less understanding of the fiscal dynamics of a 2B company.
Can you hush loser?

Hey, Landry has ruined any chance of your dream of Urban Meyer happening.
quote:
This unusual situation naturally drew a wide range of reactions from people in and around the sport, and this includes a man who has been linked to the opening with the Tigers in former OSU and Florida head coach Urban Meyer, who said that the governor’s reported involvement in Kelly’s firing would “change the game.”
“If this really took place in the Governor’s mansion, and if the Governor and other non-football people were making the decision, as a coach, that’s an alarm,” Meyer said on a recent episode of The Triple Option. “… I hate to speculate, but, to me, if that did happen, then that changes the game. If you’re now going to interview for the head coaching position at LSU, do you meet with the Governor?”
