From an expectation viewpoint it’s not better. Kiffin could stay as long as he wants at ole Miss winning 9 to 11 games a season even if he never even makes the playoffs.

Not making the playoffs for 4 years straight gets you (rightfully so) fired from LSU.

His point is valid. With the changes in the sport what were viewed as better jobs have zero meaning now

Saban is acting ignorant on purpose.

He knows LSU is the gold mine he just can’t say that in public

I dunno how many billionaires does Ole Miss have willing to contribute to football ops?
Cause looks like LSU has at least 3

I think he's right. NIL changed everything. Kiffin can get a raise to $10 million this year, have pretty much whatever he needs in terms of buying players, and be a legend at Ole Miss winning 9-10 games a year and making the playoff every few years. He can exceed their standard annually in his sleep, make bank doing it, be revered there and be under basically no pressure. LSU and Florida will expect championships because that is the standard, or it is moreso than Ole Miss.

They'll literally name a building after Kiffin if he stays for another 6 years and repeats his first 6 years results.

LSU invested in Kelly. Not just money. LSU gave him control and the resources to build a team to be highly successful. Kelly’s football teams were substandard. No need to nitpick now why. The fact is Kelly failed the performance evaluation.

The next LSU coach will also be given control and resources. Anyone who doesn’t see that does not know LSU’s commitment to excellence.

Ole Miss has 2 or 3 (2 with over 2 billion, 1 who is right around $900 million / 1 billion). All 3 donate to Ole Miss Athletics.

And all are more than happy to let Lane have full control over the football program and let him run it however he wants.

That’s why I keep rolling my eyes at people keep pumping up the job Kiffin has done by saying “well it’s Ole Miss think of what he could do here”

I think he’s done a good job don’t get me wrong but all the Ole Miss boosters decided they were going to pay their way to being a good program the last few years regardless of what Kiffin is doing. There’s a reason he got a 10 million dollar roster last year(that he went 9-3 and missed the playoffs with)

11 wins puts you in the playoffs
10 wins in SEC gives you an 80% chance to make playoffs

Lane is averaging is about to have his 3rd 10 win season at Ole miss in a row.

That was his nice way of saying the standards are lower there so maybe it's a better job for him

LSU is a better job, but from an expectations standpoint? Ole Miss is a much easier job. Making a playoff for them is equal to a championship at LSU.

Lane and Ole Miss will never win a championship together. It’s a nice sentiment, but they don’t have the program for that. It’s what you get with low expectations.

And that’s the absolute ceiling. Lane is the best you will ever have and you will never do better. When was the last time Ole Miss has even won an SEC championship
