Any suggestions for a tripod for a 10 year old to shoot off of in a box stand? Thanks

Bog pod death grip on sale at psa for $119. I have this and installed a camera ball on it so it rotates much better (see youtube for vids on how to do).

I'd second Two Vets, but that's not all out lol. RRS is all out, and they are worth it.

After my accident I constantly have tremors, which lead me to the bog death grip , little bulky for a box stand demanding on the size but it has been well worth it . I can pretty much set it and forget it and not worry about making an unethical shot

we (myself and my kids) shoot off a good shooting bag (Armageddon gear shmeduim game changer). Very stable without the bulk of a tripod. It can sit on the shelf if the blind has one or be draped over the window if not. I have a tripod that they shoot off of sometimes, but this is much easier in a blind imo.

edit: if your blind has the possibility to shoot multiple directions its also much easier to switch windows quickly/quietly than a tripod.

I have the bog fieldpod. I like it better than the death grip because the gun isn't locket into it if i need to reach over and get it out to rack a shell or pick up the shotgun if we are turkey hunting.

I called camera land and talked to them about tripods.

I needed one that would be tall enough for me (I'm 6'4"). It's a heavy duty camera bipod that easily hands the weight. Also, bought a ball head for it with a gun grip. I ended up not really liking the gun grip and switched it out to arca lock. There is a rail that I attach to my mlok on my AR.

Very, very secure. and lighter than the gun grip.

Would not work for a bolt action though.

I have the anvil and yes, it is great. A “cheaper” Innorel tripod as well.

I took my anvil off of my RRS and put it on the Two Vets. Anvil is by far the best shooting head. The ball heads are better for glassing I think. I want a RRS 3 section but my wallet said Two Vets lol.

I bought a Bog Deathgrip on an impulse buy this summer and used it extensively on a prairie dog hunt last month. I normally shoot prairie dogs on a rotating table out of my truck cargo box. Using the tripod I was able to shoot some pd's I wouldn't have been able to shoot from my truck. It was very stable and pd's were in trouble if I got w/in 150 yards. Having said that, I have some of the same concerns expressed earlier about using it if you're in a box stand. My son-in-law has used his tripod for his two sons to kill deer w/ cross bows, but they were hunting from a ground blind. It seems like it'd be too crowded to use in a box stand, especially w/ two people. In a box stand, I'll continue to use a shooting shelf outside the window w/ sand bags sitting on top. If you have a shooting shelf, you might try a short bipod in front and a sand bag in back.

Primos Trigger Stick Gen3 Short Tripod

I've been very happy with my Primos Trigger sticks. I have the short and the tall tripods. I use the short 90% of the time because its much easier to use in a ground blind or box stand. I have the death grips mounted to both of them. You can get set up to shoot using the trigger very quickly.
