Kelly worked with a D.C based image consultant to improve his public persona

From his disastrous introductory speech at an LSU basketball game, in which he pronounced "family" with a fake Southern drawl that was thicker than roux, Kelly just never seemed to fit in.
And he wasn't blind to that. This offseason, Kelly worked with a Washington, D.C.-based image consultant to try to improve his public persona.

That consultant robbed him LOL

Poor guy seemed so blind and clueless as to what he really needed to "work on."

Hope it's not too late to get a refund.

“Act like less of a prick. Ok that’ll be 200k sir”

Putting in the work and winning would've been his best medicine.

'Brian, perhaps we should try to be less confrontational with your assistants on the field'

What a moron.
While I applaud him for trying, why on earth would you hire a firm out of DC to help with your image towards the people of Louisiana? Sounds like a firm you would go with if you wanted people in DC or NY to like you, not a southern college town.

Who advised him to do this?

All he had to do was win and all the BS people are crying about wouldn’t matter

I wonder if this is part of the reason for the narrative that BK was checked out.
After coaching the same way for 40 years, maybe he didn’t know how to change his approach and instead just backed off and let his assistants do everything

Kelly needed to be himself as he sounded like a politician. But the media is going little overboard in their attacks. I totally get the fan’s reaction especially after A&M game. Kelly is a good coach just terrible fit at LSU.

Best thing he could have done foir his image was win. Should have spent that time preparing for the season.
I'd rather my coach be himself and not worry about image.

Is there a single example anyone could cite to of LSU fans not being accepting of a successful coach (and we have had coaches in various sports from far and wide) just being his authetic self?

Would have liked him more as the arsehole he is and just win. There would be no problems. Maybe he should have met with consultants that could advise him on assistant hires.
