I'm all about it. The more I watch Kelvin coach and hear him in interviews the more I like him. I think this would energize recruits and our fanbase. Let's get a young, hungry Tiger alum in here!

Didn’t Kelvin have like 146 tackles in a game for us one time?

Yeah i believe he recorded 1,000 or so tackles that year. If that isnt HC material then what is?

What has Kelvin done as a HC in college football while juggling recruiting and NIL?

I don't know that LSU can afford to go this route. We're teetering on the edge of irrelevancy.

I'm sure he's a good defensive coordinator, but I'm pretty sure this is just his first season as DC. College head coach requires a whole lot more of you than an NFL DC.

Neither did Dan Lanning and Ryan Day.

I don't care. We just fired the guy with more "head coaching experience" than anyone in the nation.

He's in his first year as an NFL DC for a team where he was on staff and basically slid in to run the defense already in place.

I'm not saying he won't be a great coach one day, but he has never recruited nor ran a team/organization.

LSU is too big for Kelvin or anyone else with that little experience.

“ no head coach experience”

Neither did Kirby Smart at Georgia have any.

Haha so I was obviously trying to pump shine, but then I remembered it was Kevin Minter (d-coordinator??!) with 17 solo and 20 overall against Florida.

Sheppard has been around Dan Campbell a few years and Campbell is one hell if a coach

He's got Austin Thomas to lean on for that stuff. He's a smart, young and hungry coach. I think he can figure it out.

But he had learned under the GOAT for years and was a known great recruiter. Big difference between that and a first year NFL DC.

BF has been pimping Kelvin hard.

I don’t doubt Kelvin would bring some feel good to the program with the old players being around again and an energetic defensive guy.

But if you’re an AD making this monumental hire.. do you put your career and neck on the line for someone who has never been a HC?

Hard bridge to cross.

That was probably Minter but Shepp was a baller. Of course Verne would tell you it was really Ryan Perrilloux.

Shepp is the guy the Miles-O era guys seem to want. I get it but Breiden was calling for us to hire freaking MEATBALL a few weeks ago. Their input should be taken with a giant grain of salt.

I could see Sheppard being an NFL HC in a few years. He’s in a great spot with Dan Campbell and if his defenses stay competent he’ll get opportunities.

This is really hard to put a price tag on. A rising tide lifts all boats, and there’s not a more popular coach than DC out there.

I figure Fehoko is hoping to land some job on LSU staff if Kelvin gets the job. Dude is pimping hard.
