Why does he get to be a part of the hiring process? I do not view him as a totally LSU guy. But I also heard through the same rumpors everyone else hears that he may be the next AD. Can someone in the know explain?

Maybe the Austin Thomas hire was in anticipation of Kelly’s failure to give us an inside track on Kiffin.

Its not just Austin Thomas. There's alot of familiar faces here now from Ole Miss.
Kelvin Bolden: Joined LSU in July 2025 as the Sr. Associate Athletics Director/Assistant General Manager after working at Ole Miss as the Coordinator of Recruiting Strategy.

Jai Choudhary: Hired in April 2025 as the Associate Director of Player Personnel, reuniting with Austin Thomas, with whom he previously worked at Ole Miss.

Because he should, as the GM of the program, he needs to be involved at a granular level with who the Head Coach will be.

I don't think he really has the desire to work across all sports. He wants to be an NFL GM.

Good question, exactly what does Thomas do and what has he done to date?

Don't really care, he has proven time and again that he has a pulse on College Football.

In the new age of NIL, transfer portal, etc GMs are as important if not more than the Head Coach. Someone to build the roster, raise and allocate the funds, etc.

We got a good one with AT and he should certainly have a seat at that table
