SEC coach and winning at UNLV. His experience is worth a shot if Kiffen says no. He wouldn’t be the worst hire. Would probably come cheap and is out to prove he has it still.

At least he’d give you competent offense every year. More than you could say for the Kelly hire

If you think a Brian Kelly was a bad fit culturally, Mullen is going to be even worse. He did not fit in with the culture at Mississippi State and didn’t have a lot of friends in that AD. But he was the best coach in their history so that gave him a lot of grace. He is 10x more awkward than Kelly

Mike Scarborough said tonight Mullen is an absolute prick and would never want him at LSU.

I agree that it doesn't matter if you win whether you are nice or not, but when things go south it makes it even worse.

Mullen sucked at Florida. Come on. He proved he isn’t a championship coach.

Yes he did suck at Florida, but how much of it was his doing? I recently read an article that changed my perception of what happened. He did ask for more money for assistant coaches and upgrades to build the program but was denied every time he asked for anything. Napier came along and was given everything to try to succeed. Maybe Mullen wasn’t the problem. All I’m saying is he isn’t a horrible option if we strike out on the first names.

He is absolutely a horrible option.

He has a better chance at being the next LSU OC in a rehabilitation role than he does being the next LSU HC…. His path to being a major P4 coach again is through an OC position.

Idk if it’s LSU, but Mullen would be a damn good hire for someone. He knows how to coach and how to script an offense. He just hates recruiting, but now with the NIL world, perhaps he’s able to mask that weakness.

I think he’ll have a really good second life in the new NIL / transfer era.

Wouldn’t necessarily hate it as I think he probably would do well but dude is a grade A a-hole and would probably go over about as well if not worse than Kelly with the fans. Having met the guy a couple time dude was seriously unlikable.

No no no no no. UNLV roster is appel to oranges to their competition. They have money in that roster.

Rumors are the Mullen has been checked out but they have way better athletes than their competition

Mullen is a smug a-hole just like the guy we fired lol.

Now, he is a really good offensive mind, but no. Hell no!
