Any suggestions, looking to personally go destroy myself and shame into bige eating. It doesnt have to be a buffett. It could be a string of resturants or a series of different meals, stacked together for an immense europhic hit.

Foo Chow in Walker (Fri or Sat evening seafood buffet)
Thai Pepper & Swagat in BR (RIP)
Mama Hamils (Madison, MS)
Bellagio (Las Vegas)
POC (Miami)
Lelulo's (Pittsburgh)

Though not technically a buffet, I also like Sushi Masa and Ohayo

Beau Rivage in Biloxi had a really good one before Covid, several casinos in Las Vegas were good too.

Abbeville Catfish in Abbeville, MS outside of Oxford used to have a great buffet with things like quail and frog legs in addition to catfish. Pretty sure it closed 15-20 years ago though

There used to be a buffet in Mooresville NC called Fat Boys that was probably the best buffet I ever ate at. It was like having a buffet at grandmaw's house.

The issue with modern buffets is the price. You used to be able to get a buffet for a reasonable price, as in the same price as an entree or similar enough.

Now a good breakfast buffet is $25 and a dinner buffet is $50+.

At those prices you can get a damn good meal instead.

I go to Foo Chow in Walker on Saturday night for the snow crabs, which are very good imo. They aren't stingy with filling the crab pan; it stays replenished and the crabs are easily to peel. They also have the "Fiery Crab" style in another pan. They also have drawn butter and spicy Cajun butter for dipping. My wife, son, & I aren't fatties by any means but we can put away some crabs. For $25.99/pp we eat what would easily cost $500+ elsewhere. The other buffet offerings are solid, as well. I really don't understand why it doesn't get more hype. it's a gem, for sure.

The one I mentioned is $48, but it includes champagne. They also have a seafood buffet on Friday nights for $55.

It’s not sexy or fancy but for good simple food at a great price go check out Country Kitchen in Gonzales for lunch.
