Insane to read folks saying it's not NOT Sloan's scheme because MVB looked good.

Nuss absolutely stunk up the place all season and deserved to be benched and MVB gives us a better chance, but come on. MVB came in against a team that was destroying us, already had the game in the bag, started to substitute and took their foot off the gas.
Sloan is the root of our offensive problems (and ultimately BK for letting this perpetuate) and his schemes, play calling and predictability are horrible.

3 yard out on 3rd and 4 is all that needs to be said. I wish I had counted how many times we had 3rd and 7 during that game.

The stupid bubble screens. How many times do you try a TE screen?!? I will be happy if I never seen another lineman line up outside the line for an exotic look…

Yep. Sloan is so bad that opposing DC's just bait him into that short shite.
Must be fun to coach against him, you can just dictate what he can do.

His play calling is atrocious, but so is Nuss.
MVB gives us a chance with his legs. It’s insane to read folks defending Nuss at this point

a&m NEVER lets off the gas vs LSU. its an old rivalry they havent forgotten.
dont poo-poo the MVB drive just because youre biased. he made some plays nuss couldnt, and that shows how he could have produced more than nuss did with the same opportunities all year.
Nuss even has WRs running open, he just cant hit them

Brian Kelly’s need for “yes men” has not worked out well at all for him.

Some folks are simply stupid.

That TE delay/screen was absolutely atrocious. Sharp shouldn’t be targeted at all

Sloan has been pretty good with mobile QBs to coach. Kelly said he did not want Nuss in because they could not protect and were putting him in harms way. MVB took the offense right down the field with the same inept blocking that was so bad BK was scared Nuss was going to get hurt (worse).
Maybe it was because it was against the second team. But why don’t we know the answer? MVB should have been given opportunities to prove BK right (that he is not as good as Nuss according to BK) LONG before now. Our QB play has not been so stellar that a backup QB should at least be given a single relevant series in the last three games.

maybe we should throw another telegraphed screen
that last drive was a product of being down by 31

Once again, no mention of co-OC Hankton. It's incredible how Sloan's name always comes up without mentioning Hankton which Kelly always mentions as co-OC in his post game pressers in regards to game prep and calling play calling. WTF?

Sloan is awful and has no business being a D1 coordinator. Anyone thinking otherwise understands nothing about football.
Posted on 10/26/25 at 9:24 am to Tdubs7
Sloan should have been replaced once Underwood flipped. That's the only reason you were keeping him around anyway.

That's the "horizontal Duo" of Nuss and Sloan. Then you have their "security", Big Boy Brad Davis.
