I enjoyed it very much. The multiple perspectives on the same occurrence while not being repetitive was well done. Never clarified what the old lady “was”.

Looks like they are making a prequel movie about her.

Did not care for it. The teacher’s story was slow and hollow. Barely any suspense in the first half, despite the good premise. Most of the characters acted in ways that didn’t make sense, except the dad (Brolin), who felt like the only grounded person. It’s framed like a horror film but feels more like an offbeat comedy at times, and not in a good way.

Once the mystery was revealed, the movie lost any tension and fell flat. I didn’t mind the witch. The only staying part was that Alex’s story was pure tragedy. You can feel his being trapped and the soup scenes are tough.

I’m sure there is some meta commentary about this film that I missed. But taking it as it is, I didn’t enjoy it and would not recommend it.

I liked it. Felt like a better done, more straightforward Longlegs

Creggers said originally she had a chapter in the story that covered her background but took it out bc he felt it didn’t really add anything and if anything made her more toothless as a villain than the unknown pieces of her story lingering the whole time

Watched it today and I very much enjoyed it. It was definitely better than Bring Her Back, I haven’t watched The Substance yet so I can’t compare it to that.
She was definitely some type of Voodoo witch.

I liked it. I would've loved seeing more Julia Garner because she was fantastic in this, but I thought it was well done. I do have to admit I almost tuned out bc of the child narrator, but that's thankfully a very minor part

Just watched it. Pretty good and original concept. My first thought when I saw the witch in the Asian guy's office was that he should bash her skull in immediately. That's what I'd have done and it would have saved so many lives.

We watched it last night.

I did like the POV portions. The cop was fricked.

We laughed pretty good when you see the Aunt running and the hoard of kids right behind her.

I watched this over the weekend. Really liked it. The end was a bit weak with the very obviously old, decrepit witch sprinting across yards and through houses. It had a campy, Ferris Bueller vibe that took me out of it a little. But I really liked the voodoo-ish type of vibe to it with how she made people change and do her bidding. That was cool.

I didn’t care for the different narratives with the different people, but they did it well and made it work.

As a parent these movies hit different for me. It really bothered me how bad I felt for Alex most of the time. And even still, he didn’t get a happy ending.

But this was the best new horror movie I’ve seen in a while.

Same, just completely sucked me out of the movie. It just went on way too long. Them just dead running out of the house and through windows and all worked and should have ended very quickly after that. Going on for another 2-3 minutes as she just runs through yards just became a charicature.

Why does it matter what time of day you watched it?

I'm assuming you haven't seen the movie? The original question/joke was a reference to the movie.
