Two Former College QBs Give Nuss Positive Reviews for Play at Vandy

1) YT: Max Browne
2) YT: Aaron Murray
Aaron Murray does offer some criticism at points but all in all was very positive.

I wonder what our record would be with a strong offensive line.

And with a QB that doesn’t make 25 bad decisions every game and can read a defense.

His PFF score against Vandy was 76.6, which is considered good. Not great or elite, but good. He was the second highest rated player on offense behind Trey Dez.

Nuss is not the problem. He got beat up that game because of the offensive line. Tomorrow night could be worse.

We really did build a team around Nuss thats just magnify his weaknesses. We don't really have a traditional anything, te group, rb room, wr group. We rotate 8 receivers in and out of the game constantly, Our back up center comes in at tackle. Our starting de is our fullback in short yardage. Its honestly a FN mess when ya step back and look at it.

Pyburn is the least of the problems

Who does PFF’s grading and how many plays do they sample?

They didn't build a team around anything. It's a "throw a bunch of shite against the wall and see what sticks philosophy". The WR and RB rotation ensures no continuity. Play calling doesn't have any flow. We rarely use tempo. Oddly, the only continuity is the refusal to replace your worst offensive player, Weston Davis.

Maybe he isn't the problem, but his TD to interception rate against the sec is terrible, so maybe he is part of the issue

He is, and so is the offensive line. He was not as bad as he’s been in previous games, but we saw how the QB run game was the difference maker at Vandy. Nuss had several opportunities to change the game by taking off. Everyone is going to look at PFF, but it’s not like PFF is going to take away points because he didn’t take a scrambling opportunity. He also made some pretty bad checks at the LOS and bad decisions in the RPO game.

As far as rotating wr's and rb's. I hate that crap. AA and Parker should never leave the field. No continuity whatsoever.

According to AI, it is several analysts and they grade every play.
"PFF college grades are calculated by analysts evaluating every single play of a game to assess a player's contribution, not just the outcome. Each play is assigned a raw grade (from \(-2\) to \(+2\)) based on execution and situation, which is then converted to a 0-100 scale for the game and the season. Season grades are not simple averages of game grades; instead, they are a separate calculation that rewards consistency and the overall body of work."

“Analysts”. I met one before who was pretty much a casual fan and I’ll just say it solidified that it all needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

I saw a stat that showed he got pressured or hit like 43 or 46% of his dropbacks, he played pretty good for that to occur.

2 busts give positive reviews on another bust

I put it this way...Nuss is playing good enough for you to win with. This offensive line is not.
Posted on 10/24/25 at 8:11 am to AlwysATgr
Nuss wasn't bad but not great against vandy. Play calling and o line play was the big problem.
