Yet they got half the amount of hate on them by the fanbase towards the end. I remember this board was genuinely 50/50 as to whether to fire Les at the time. It was like 30/70 for O. Some people still liked his whole Cajun coon-arse schtick.

Not for Kelly. EVERYONE wants this dude fired and the situation here imo is still not nearly as bad as it was towards the end of Les and O. Interesting, I guess he is just unlikeable. I don’t know

Les and O had much bigger highs. Kelly has zero accomplishments at LSU.

Les and O both won a Natty. Kelly won the SEC West.

It all goes back to the "Anyone can win with LSU players" crowd. People figured if two borderline retards like Les and O could win, Kelly was going to win multiple championships. He is the hot chick that turned out to be nuts and have bad hygiene.

That’s because those guys had some success. A NC will buy you quite a bit of goodwill, it’s just not a lifetime pass.

Kelly had a little bit of success his first year, then squandered a Heisman winner his second. It’s been nothing but stagnation since.

Les won a division title with all the Katrina distractions, a BCS bowl in year two, a natty in year 3, had a decent 2010 season, and won the SEC in 2011. Was also a lot more fun to watch during the Mad Hatter era.

O won a natty.

BK has one win against the gumps in his first year and a West title in a year that ended with five losses.

I disagree Les still had a competent team. We just knew he was as stubborn with not changing offensive philosophies and been here too long. If Les Miles had Nuss, his team would have been really good. Miles teams played with heart and his lines although not as highly ranked, his o-linemen played hard.

Les was a players coach, and he was likable. BK although stubborn with offensive philosophies can’t hold Les Miles jockstrap. Les would get in and coach up players. BK wants to hit the golf course he definetly doesn’t want to be out their coaching it’s obvious.

The worst hasn’t happened for Kelly yet. But he’s on the way to it.

He also hasn’t been to the heights Miles and O went when they were here.

Winning championships gives you more rope. It’s surprising seeing the lack of critical thinking this board has to offer.

Kelly’s claim to fame here has been the win over Bama in year 1, and a heisman winner the next year. The other 2 had titles. I think Orgeron may have been fired faster than any coach ever after winning a title.

They both won natiional championships in their 3rd year. It is Kelly's 4th year and we won't make a 12 team playoff. AND, we are about to start our HARD part of our schedule.

If Kelly makes it to 9 - 3, we might still get into the playoffs. I just don't see it. He looks like he just shows up on Saturday's and watches the games just like we do.

It is like he knows he can't compete in the SEC, so he is just going through the motions.

2021 ND was in the playoff hunt, they got eliminated and the LSU job became public

BK had the ND media and the national media shitting all over him from that minute on. “Fam-UH-lee” went viral overnight. BK had a lot of enemies in the media waiting on a chance to strike and the cynical move to LSU was perfect

Orgeron and Miles didnt face that level of animosity from the national media

Wasn't one Natty appearance obtained by default?

Orgeron got 6 wins his last year. It's realistically possible that CBK gets 6 wins this year.

Kelly is a victim of his own BS, and of the BS surrounding his hire; that he came to compete against the best; that he would have more resources at his disposal than at Notre Dame; that a national championship would be the expectation; to wait to judge him until after his third year.

This is his fourth year, and he has yet to field a complete team. Is it misses and/or poor evaluation in recruiting? Subpar player development? The failure to instill an atmosphere of toughness surrounding the team? The failure to hire competent assistants; other reasons or all of the above?
