If you are Kelly…

Posted by OrdainedMoney on 10/26/25 at 12:26 pm
While your gig at LSU is almost certainly done, if you are Kelly you need to throw the kitchen sink at Bama and OU to try and give yourself one more year, if you even have that at this point. (I’m not hoping he gets another year, just saying)

- Bench Nuss, Start MVB who they have zero tape on and have struggled with running QBs. Nuss is either hurt or just fricking sucks, likely both.

- Bench Perkins, dude fricking sucks and is a complete liability, show fans that you are willing to take drastic action instead of being passive and reactionary.

- call your own plays, stop yelling at that retard Sloan because he called a flat route to Trey’dez Green on 3rd and 4 when the clock was ticking down to 0:00 with no timeouts. Take ownership of your shite. Be an actual coach.

- show some evidence in some aspect of the game that you can still out coach / out prepare someone else. I’m not saying you win but for God’s sake stop being outsmarted by coaches with way less experience than you. Everyone is over the “executing” bullshite. At the end of the day this is what a HC is for.
Can you provide an example of when your sources were true?
His team is so “strong” that his defense gave up 40 points to each Arkansas and Notre Dame as well as gave up 25 to a bottom Decile LSU offense. Our defenses were soft as shite his last three years at LSU despite being littered with 5 stars. Of all the horrible coaching decisions we’ve made over the past 5 years, that may have been one of the few correct ones.

Frick it. I like Brian Kelly

Honestly, it’s time that someone steps up. These “Brian Kelly killed a kid” jokes have completely run its course. There’s also been like 400 posts on here about people hating him with hundreds of upvotes on each one. Is this guy Hitler? One would think so. You know what? frick that. I’m standing behind BK. Someone has to. This cracker pulled us out of the absolute doldrums. I went to the Kansas State game where we had like 4 people on our roster. Pulling us into an SEC championship a mere year later of absolutely nothing is a damn near miracle. Thank you. Maybe you can’t take us to that next level, and that’s okay, we’ll move on soon. But you prevented us from becoming a UF or UT entering 10+ years of nothingness. Thank you. Looking forward to tomorrow. (Downvote me if you have to)

A wise man once said: “It’s easy to hate Brian Kelly, but do you have the courage to support Brian Kelly?”

Edit: for those asking, yes, Woodward pays me $225k/year to post these. I’ve recently bought a nice house in Bocage and have been enjoying life. Thank you

If we go down 14-3 in the first quarter and it's raining, I'm 100% leaving lmao

LSU will not pass a single eye test.

You win 4 of your last 5 and you definitely do pass it. They've shown that they care a lot about momentum and how a team is playing NOW
We are #20 now. If we beat #3 A&M this weekend, we likely jump to #14, 15 at worst. If we then lose to Bama, we likely fall back to 20-21ish. As long as its not a complete arse kicking, the committee won't penalize us very much for losing a close game away against a top 5 opponent. So then you are at 20, you beat Arkansas and WKU over the next two weeks. Others continue losing, maybe you've inched back up to 15-16 at this point. After all, you are 3 loss SEC team with a top 5 win and all of your loses are away games against top 10 opponents. You start to stack up well against even some out of conference two loss teams. You then go into Norman and you beat a top 15 (or maybe top 10) Oklahoma team. Does that put you into the top 12? I think it very well may and it wouldn't be that crazy. I think this does hinge on Oklahoma having a decent ranking when we play them though. There are already so many 2 loss teams this year, way more than this point last year. Same with 1 loss teams. I think this is the year a 3-loss SEC team sneaks in.

People are going to downvote me here, but they are going to be bringing up the same exact scenario on Sunday if we beat A&M (we are only 2.5pt underdogs, so it's not an insane thing to say).

I support BK.

Let's see how many downvotes this can get.
quote:

Franklin, Gruden, Cignetti, Lane, Sumrall, Vandy coach, USF coach

Franklin - A light years worse "big game" record than BK. This dude constantly underperformed and you'd have to pay him a lot

Gruden - Hasn't coached in forever and is honestly more of a figure head in media than anything. Would he for sure be in on LSU in the long-term? Idk

Lan - Has not sniffed a playoff in his life

Sumrall - Maybe, sure

Vandy Coach - Still under contract and he loves coaching at Vandy, they are going to pay him a ton to stay, is it really worth matching?

USF Coach - Maybe, sure. That is a risk and he's not guaranteed to actually outperform Kelly

quote:

I see you’re putting that less than 2 week old account to good use, Mrs. Kelly.

Let me know if I can pass anything along to him.
If we quite the bitching for five seconds, genuinely. Kiffin? He has never sniffed a playoff and has constantly choked when he's had the chance. Franklin? Who is basically just BK 2.0, a northerner who underperforms in big games. Do we take a risk on a smaller school coach like Sumrall? Maybe, but there is a decent chance you end up like UF and Napier.

The reality is that Kelly is still objectively one of the winningest coaches that will give you a high floor. Who's available right now that is better than Kelly and will for sure take us to the next level? I get why everyone is mad, but right now we're probably better off using that buyout money for continued NIL investment.

But if he were to slam the table in anger, everyone would make fun of him and say he's a maniac with a hot temper lol.

Not saying I like the guy but let's at least be fair.
I mean what are we talking about here? A little two day trip to the panhandle? If so, whatever. Or did he fly out to Aruba for the week?

Lol thanks bro
Judging in terms of material outperformance / underperformance against expectations going into a game as well as how big / important the game was. I count 5 overperformances vs.9 underperformances where we were all genuinely shocked and/or very disappointed at the results.

Outperformance:

#7 Ole Miss (2022) - Very solid Ole Miss team that we beat by 25
#6 Bama (2022) - 14 pt dogs. Great win
@ #21 Missouri (2023) - Won by 10 points against a solid Missouri team on the road
#9 Ole Miss (2024) - Gutsy win where I think Kiffin was genuinely outcoached in the 2nd half
@ #4 Clemson (2025) - I know they are bad now, but this was still a gutsy win and overcame the opening week hump

Underperformance:

FSU (2022) - we were favorites, but we lost in a huge season opener
Tennessee (2022) - destroyed
A&M (2022) - destroyed
FSU (2023) - lost by 21 even though we were only slight dogs. Another opener
USC (2024) - Were favorites and lost by a touchdown. They ended up being bad this year too
A&M (2024) - Got our arse beat. Kelly had no answer
Alabama (2024) - Holy
Florida (2024) - Pitiful coaching performance. Lost to an unranked UF team by double digits.
Vandy (2025) - Technically we were dogs, but truly felt like a "must win" and Kelly was purely outcoached against a less talented team

Caveats: I didn't include Bama 2023. We were decently sized dogs and Daniels was knocked out early 3rd quarter, that's tough. Also I think Ole Miss in 2023 we were slight dogs as well. Lost on last play of the game. Also didn't include Ole Miss 2025. While sort of disappointing, they are a solid team, it was a close game on the road.
Lol we are going to be like 30 point favorites over Western Kentucky. They are horrific.
quote:

That’s the flaw in your logic.

It's called a hypothetical, that I'm proposing. It's not my prediction
quote:

get obliterated at Bama which would hurt our case immensely.

Agreed. A two touchdown loss to Bama would seal it. But the committee does favor momentum. Winning 4 of your last 5 with your only loss being a top 5 Bama shows that.
The problem here of course is that Oklahoma could be unranked by the time we play them. They still have OM, @ Tenn, @ Bama, and Mizzou before playing us. But a 9-3 SEC team with a few strong wins late in the year and losses to only top 15 teams (Bama, OM, Vandy) is not a bad look at all.

The AP in week 9 of 2024 had 14 1-loss teams, currently there are 20 1-loss teams in there now. Last year at this point there were 3 2-loss teams, there are now 7 2-loss teams this week. It's becoming increasingly likely that there will be a few 3 loss teams that crack the top 12.

Obviously fire Brian Kelly and everything, but I hate to break it to y'all a win against A&M and a close loss to Bama means we are probably still in the top 20. If we rattle off three in a row and cap it off with a top 20 win @ Oklahoma, we could very well be in and it wouldn't be the craziest thing ever.

Edit: so judging by the comments, no one is capable of understanding hypotheticals and actually thinks that I am saying LsU will win 4 of our next 5
Yet they got half the amount of hate on them by the fanbase towards the end. I remember this board was genuinely 50/50 as to whether to fire Les at the time. It was like 30/70 for O. Some people still liked his whole Cajun coon-arse schtick.

Not for Kelly. EVERYONE wants this dude fired and the situation here imo is still not nearly as bad as it was towards the end of Les and O. Interesting, I guess he is just unlikeable. I don’t know

What’s up with your punctuation / spacing here?

Yeah lsu typically gets a 6 point swing at home at night roughly

I’ve listened to actual traders at Circa and other places on podcasts say LSU gets ~3pts relative to neutral field, which is among the highest and much higher than average, but certainly not 6 points.

I think A&M are ~5pt favorites on a neutral field. The reality is that A&M may also not be very good (Arkansas put 40 on them) and LSU is not as bad as you think either, despite the melt on this board. We are very injured up front and our defense had to be on field for 40 minutes yesterday.

plenty of white s that act the same

Not to get political but this isn’t even close to being statistically true lmao.

And even anecdotally, when we’re walking on highland after the game, we know it is not the group of white frat kids that went to Catholic High that we have to worry about. It’s the…
quote:

Shut up dude, music is way better than listening to the fat drunk guy next to you chant LSU

Bro. Just admit you like ghetto rap music raping your ears for 3.5 hours
I went to the Arkansas game in 2023 I think right before the new speakers were making their debut. At the time, I had no issue with the volume level being too high as some had mentioned, I just think the song selection and timing of the songs were horrific.

Example:

Early 4th quarter, LSU up 7. Ark has a 3rd and long. Timeout called.

During the timeout, the fans in the north end zone and student section began to start the “L-S-U!” chant. We all know how when the entire stadium joins in for this, it can be loud and pretty awesome. It gets everyone hyped up for the next down.

But right when some of us on the east side were starting to join in and the chant was catching some legs, the DJ (you or your underling) immediately began blasting some weird techno Skrillex song over the those shitty arse speakers. It sounded like complete arse. LSU Fans, realizing that their voices paled in comparison to the 120 decibel speakers being blasted in their ears, sat back down and the chant was immediately quelled. Virtually no one got up and loud for that 3rd down. Then what happened? Jefferson hit some wide open TE for like a 30 yard gain. They went and scored a TD a few mins later the same drive.

Now, fast forward to present day South Carolina game last weekend. Have not been to a game since. Surely with the new speakers, it has improved since then, I thought. Wrong. The song selections are worse and the piped in music is somehow even louder now. No, I don't need to hear "Turn Down for What" completely assaulting eardrums during a random timeout in the 3rd quarter. Or "All I Do Is Win" when we're playing like arse and we have a timeout before a key 3rd down conversion. No one wants to cheer after that happens, they want to enjoy the short, momentary silence they'll get during the play or just leave altogether.

Probably the funniest moment: I'm sitting west sideline, mid 4th quarter, we're up 7, key timeout. DJ starts BLASTING "Set it Off" by Boosie. The boomer in front of me just goes "This is fricking ridiculous" gets up and leaves lmao. My God man, just please for the love of Christ stop, we're all begging you.

The below thread is another good one for your reference. Note the upvote / downvote ratio.

I like night games as much as the next guy. But these “7pm” kickoffs where the first snap isn’t actually until like 7:25pm is a bit much. Then you add in the classic 4 hour ABC commercial-ridden broadcast + contra flow and you are looking at not getting back to your house until midnight. And that is assuming you live in BR and not coming from Nola or Laffy.

I love the 3:30 NFL start time or even the 2:30 CFB start time after daylight savings, especially later in the fall. It’s basically night time by the second half anyways, so you get that “night game” experience. You get home at a reasonable time so fans aren’t dying to leave and beat traffic.

Not to mention in this scenario you aren’t obligated to tailgate for like 8 hours before the game even starts.

And no, I’m not some old boomer bitching. I’m in my 20s and still ripe for some A rate pussy as you would expect.

6:30? That means kick off won’t be until like 6:45pm. Game will end around 10:30pm and I’ll be home around midnight (conservatively).

Yeah…I think I’ll be leaving mid 4th quarter regardless of score and weather. Thanks
And yet the lower bowl will still be 60% full in the second half at a night game in perfect weather. Can’t wait!

Home team always gets 3 points.

Average is 2.0 for CFB, 1.5 for NFL. Ive heard places like LSU and UF get closer to 3.0 playing at home. I would think Vandy would be lower than average. I think LSU would be -3 on a neutral field
