Any advice on where I can put $5,000 for a bit and get a good return?

In a money market right now. Wait until the tariff dispute and shutdown look to be resolving.

AMZN
easiest pick IMO.
They will dominate autonomy.

IBIT. Bitcoin playing dead before a massive rip. Almost always follows gold.

Anything related to nuclear or uranium.

Is this 5K money that you will need in a few weeks/months and can't risk losing principal? How long is "a bit"?
Or is this some extra gambling money that you are willing to take some risk with?

A mason jar is safest right now until the adults get back in charge

Buy physical gold, put it in a safe and forget about it for a while. There's nothing in the pipeline to alleviate the crushing of the USD's value under the increasing weight of continuing to create more and more debt. While things like ending the shutdown or ending the tariff wars might slow down the value growth, those will be temporary.

In your wallet. Can't be a baller unless you're carrying around a few hundys.

My answer is the same as last time, small caps/commodities/bonds.

If you dont need the money for years, VOO and forget about it. If you do need the money soonish maybe SGOV, or a HYSAccount. Tbills even if you're less lazy.
