Take this with a grain of salt but this guy is pretty big and knows ball: Instagram

Apparently we were going to make a deal with the Giants to send them Olave and a 2026 5th for CB Deonte Banks and a 2026 4th.
This fell through because Pittsburgh has offered a 2026 3rd straight up for Olave.

N/S: Apparently AJ Brown on the move to New England as well

I'd send him for a bag of caramel popcorn and I don't like caramel popcorn.

A 3rd is fair, even if it is probably later in the round

Good. Banks sucks and has a $4.3M cap hit next season. It’d be better to trade Olave without picking up any extra cap hit.

The big issue I have with that video is if the price for Olave is 3/75. Saints should maybe just pay it.

Knowing Loomis, we’re sending a pick back too.

Money needs to be spent and we will have to replace him. We should have a lot of money to spend soon if we are sticking with the young guys at qb.

Any player that comes to New Orleans we are going to be stuck overpaying if we go the free agency route.

Ridley got 4/92 with 50 million guaranteed.
Wilson 4/130
Mclaurin 3/96

People kept saying he was getting Garret Wilson money but 3/75 is probably what he would get on the open market.

Remember when we gave up a 4th and a 7th round pick for a poopoo WR from Denver this year?

Is it? Loomis is paying JJ and Cooks 17 million this year and next year.

Those contracts were and still are insane. No reason to tack on another for a guy that simply isn’t a playmaker and doesn’t elevate our offense and he will want to be paid like he is one.

Probably should see how it plays out before demanding a ban

3 Grains of Salt:

1. The post on Instagram is over a day old. Nothing.

2. Many of the comments are about him deleting posts like this. Seems he post BS trades a lot and then deletes when they don't happen.

3. There are no links to any other places where this guy posts news or works. Actual insiders are everywhere, not just Instagram.

Not to mention the fact pointed out by another responder on Instagram that AJ Brown's big contract would make a mid-season trade very difficult. It's hard to create that kind of cap room during the season.

Lesson: stick to proven known insiders for breaking news.

The Saints front office literally has no reason to trade Olave. The fans see it completely different though
