against South Carolina. And he thinks LSU is still a very dangerous team.

Negatigers won’t like that

I mean, realistically, this team is "THIS CLOSE" on offense from being the best team in college football.

Right now the offense is too inconsistent and just not good enough. Our defense is the best in the country, and debatably the best LSU defense this century.

If Nuss can get back into last season's form and the Oline can get just a hair more consistent, I would bet this team to win it all.

Pate also had Penn State winning the Natty, Clemson going deep on the playoffs, Arch Manning as a heismann finalist.

I enjoy Josh Pate

You’re never going to agree 100% with what these talking heads say, but I always admire how he arrives at his conclusions.

He might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I find that he and I think about things in the same type of way

Yes this is where im at with this team.
We have the players in place but not the coaching. At least on the offensive side of the ball OC really is the weak link, he hasnt been good anywhere hes ever been an OC.
If Kelly is a good coach he can see this as the rest of the nation sees it. Hes a good enough Offensive coach that if he steps in and takes on a bigger role in the offense then we can win it all with this team.
Im definitely not holding my breath for that bc it BK.

Pate loves LSU, he’s said many times that LSU fans blew up his show and skyrocketed his career in 2019 and he’s forever grateful. With that said, he’s calls it like he sees it. Sometimes he’s wrong, but he’s actually right most of the time.

Now that the dramatic drunks from the ScoreBoard Saturday have sobered up, the Rant is seeing how much the offense improved and 2 easily correctable mistakes kept that game close. LSU is in a good spot and if the offense continues to improve, the sky is the limit.

You have to be blind to not like what you saw from the offense. The TO can be fixed. Without those they score 41 points so yes if LSU can replicate that offense without the TO they are definitely a dangerous team. And that was against a very good front 7 so it wasn't a fluke against less talent.

Settle down, man. No team that has to blitz as much as we do is the best LSU defense this century. The early-mid 2000's probably had two or three better defenses.

The rule of thumb is...

The rant hates everyone that doesn't STTDB 1000% of the time

To me, the OL looked like it had the same problems it has had all season.

I don’t see any extra reason for optimism.
