If LSU doesn’t use Trey’Dez Green like Florida used Kyle Pitts it’s coaching malpractice

Green is the biggest mismatch vs every defense we play.
Force them to double team him which opens up the other receivers

he really showed his game last week imo.
he went from a gimmick to an actual pro prospect.
his fluid motion in space was unbelievable, especially coming off injury, he was moving like a WR. that play where he caught the slant and the effortless juke that made the two defenders crash into one another (injuring one) was incredible.
that agility at that size is a much bigger problem for defenses than just throwing jump balls in the endzone from 20 yards and in

Honestly, just make him a full time WR at this point.

If you make him a full time wr then you don't get the kind of mismatches that he is getting

What a weird post
Did he not just have a huge game? Did Kelly not just say he will be a focal point moving forward?

It took Kelly a season and a half to figure out that he should be throwing him the ball every chance he can. He was good last year as a pass catcher the few times he was targeted.

This. Kelly/Sloan try to get too cute in the pass game

Our WR rotation has to shrink going forward and they need to focus on Green, Anderson and Parker. Thomas being used as a gadget player still has a role, but Sharp, Brown and Hilton have been incredibly ineffective.

If you watched him play basketball, those moves weren’t really surprising.
While he’ll dominate jump balls, we need to use him in space as well. Athletes like him don’t come around often

I was excited to see all the new highly rated transfers come in and ball out. It’s crazy how none of them (except Brown, who is leading the team in receptions) has flashed.
Sharp is pretty average and Nic Anderson feels like Hilton 2.0. Would like to see D. Green get more catches just to see what we have with him at TE.

Brown is leading the team in receptions because they force feed him the ball. He’s got the worst yards per catch/ target on the team too

I agree. Issue is, Nuss and defenses will know it too. While in many instances it will work and be a mismatch, inevitably based on his history, Nuss will stupidly try to force some in that will cost us.

The coaches know 50 times as much as you do. Green was obviously not ready, otherwise they would have been using him. And we saw just that in his limited opportunities, he was NOT making the plays. Now he is.

So 11 targets not enough for you?

You mean like Kelly said we already have been doing?

No, need to throw him the ball a minimum 90% of drop backs like he does to his stud player on sega.

No! Gotta use him like Kyle Pitts!

This is what people don't get. Green was raw coming out of HS. He was a mismatch, but didn't run good routes, couldn't block and needed to improve his overall understanding of the game. Even on the first drive, he worked his way into open space, then drifted out when he was supposed to sit which resulted in an incomplete pass and FG try. The rest of the game he was outstanding. His blocking grade was even his best of the season.
If he continues like he did vs SC, the offense will take the next step.

Yes and no. He is a spectacular mismatch. Early, he had some drop issues, but he seems to have hammered those out. He still runs bad routes at times, specifically drifting when he runs spot routes. One of the incompletions that looked like a Nuss through behind Green was actually Green not staying set.
But the threat of using Green in the slot or out wide is great. I really like the plays where they overload one side and line Green up wide to the other. The defense has only a few options: send an extra guy to help on Green and leave the three WRs one-on-one, or even miss one of them in the shuffle so you'll have someone there, pull an extra guy out of the box to help cover all those guys plus Green, and open up a run play (including Nuss, since he has decided it is OK for him to run now), or (my favorite) leave your 6 foot CB covering our 6 foot 7 pass catching monster.
At least that's what I think it leaves us.

If you make him a full-time WR, you get mismatches elsewhere on the field to ADD to the walking mismatch that he already is by simply existing.
