quote:
"Macrohard" is the name of an ambitious AI project by Elon Musk's company, xAI, intended to create a fully AI-driven software company that could eventually operate without human developers and managers. The project, revealed in August 2025, is a satirical jab at Microsoft and aims to use AI agents to handle all aspects of software development, from coding and design to marketing and customer support. Evidence for the project includes a trademark filing by xAI for the name, which covers a wide range of AI applications, including software and video game design.
Goal: To build an AI system that can fully replicate and outperform a company like Microsoft, which is a software-only business.
Functionality: The project plans to use a large network of specialized AI agents to collaborate on software creation, potentially at a much faster and more cost-efficient pace than human-led development.
Technology: It will leverage xAI's supercomputing infrastructure and existing AI models, including the Grok large language model.
Human involvement: While the goal is to operate without human developers, a small human team is expected to be involved in building and governing the AI agents.
Current status: The project is still in its early stages, with a trademark application filed and recruitment underway, but no official product or launch date has been announced.
Name: The name "Macrohard" is a playful jab at Microsoft, suggesting a "macro" or large-scale version of a software company run by AI.

I appreciate a good troll as much as anyone, but someone needs to tell Elon he's not very funny

Not everyone gets good humor. It's ok.

Oh.
Fun.

Does a better/cheaper/easier software platform matter if nobody is willing to replace Microsoft? Sometimes monopolies are simply the result of one company winning the race and consumers being unwilling to change out of fear.

This version of job creation with minimal to no humans is a failure of economics to figure out how to keep people relevant in an age where we simply cannot complete with machines.

I think people took care of making themselves irrelevant.

Not to mention he’s a satanic transhumanist freak
Conservatives should not embrace him

This is your regular reminder that Elon wants all intellectual property law to be abolished.

It’s fricking hilarious, you’re just lame.

Well then, if the logo is done, that settles it, lol.

The fact that the richest person in the world, who is leading mankind altering projects, is trolling with said projects is pretty fricking hilarious.

If this works as good as the voice operated menu systems on phone support calls, which suck, I can't see this being a success.

I would love to dump Microsoft. Their 360 ai copilot is just about useless.
If Macrohard can produce a seamless OS and fully functional “office” alternative, they will be well on their way to being successful.
Then they can get chips designed for them and hardware products. I mean if you can produce cars and rockets, desktop computers should be doable

So now it’s going to be even harder to talk to an actual human. Fantastic.
An “agent” that struggles to understand that humans don’t have six fingers is going to be great at helping us with our nuanced questions.

Humans will be wiped out Terminator style by "Macrohard". Sounds about right.
