Mike piazza was known for being a power bat behind the plate but it appears cal he’s even more pop. Does tBigDumper get in the hall first ballot?

He's got a long way to go to match Piazza or sniff the hall of fame. One good season and y'all want to crown him?

If I remember correctly, Piazza was also a .300 hitter throughout most of his prime, along with the power.

Piazza line
.308 BA
2127 hits
427 HR
1335 RBI

Career highlights and awards
12× All-Star (1993–2002, 2004, 2005)
NL Rookie of the Year (1993)
10× Silver Slugger Award (1993–2002)
New York Mets No. 31 retired
New York Mets Hall of Fame

Raleigh is a better defensive catcher and has the one 60HR season but he has a long way to go to pass Piazza. If he surpasses Piazza career wise he will then be the greatest offensive catcher of all time

Correct. .308 career.

First 5 years he hit .310 compared to Raleigh's .226.

I know others have already given opinions as to why this take is WAY too early but I will show some stats to back this up!
Cam Raleigh - 489 hits, 153 home runs, .226 batting average, 376 RBI's, 1x all-star, 1 gold glove, 1 platinum glove (whatever that means)
Mike Piazza - 2,127 hits, 427 home runs, .308 batting average, 1,335 RBI's, 12x all-star, 10x silver slugger.

I get being hopeful that he will be as good as Piazza, and this year was better with most statistics than any one year that Piazza had. Having said that, Piazza had 9 years where he hit at least 30 home runs, six years of 100+ RBI's and 6 years of a 5+ WAR. That is hall-of-fame level. Cam has had one year of any of those stats minus RBI's where he has 2 years of 100 or more. Truly, he will need to do have Piazza level numbers for at least 7-8 more years before he can be considered Hall-of-Fame level.

Sadly, this is just as much a sign of the times. This year in all of MLB only 4 player had a higher BA than Piazza’s career .308. And Piazza’s career .308 would have claimed the NL batting crown as only one NL player surpassed .300.

Crazy times. I don’t like it, but it is what it is man.

I have always been a big supporter of catchers and it’s unreal what guys like Piazza and Pudge did over long careers playing such a physically demanding position and I have much respect for Cal’s 2025 season, I hope he is rewarded with the MVP as I think he deserves the award.

Before this year he's basically been a positive defensive catcher who has been above average with the bat. A 4.5 win/117 wRC+ kinda guy

The year he just had is CRAAAAAZY and we should probably wait and see him do this again before putting him in the HoF when he was nowhere close to that path coming into April
