The game day engagement and interest at Tiger Stadium is dropping off little by little each year.
The student section at any school drives the energy, and there seems to be lack of interest by our students, which carries over to the rest of the stadium. 10 to 30 years ago, the student section was the starting point from 90 min before quick off till the game ended. We not only need students back, but their energy to make Death Valley what it’s known for… calling you out students. We need yall back and ENGAGED all game.
There’s a difference between going through the motions of being there… Vs a passion for Death Valley.

2019 was great, but it spoiled us. That’s what titles do. Combine that with these kids only caring about a screen in front of them and what some influencer is doing on TikTok…yeah, they don’t care.

TS is what it is… if it’s not a Top10 opponent, expect this.
It’s a combination of a lot of things, but it is what is is.
It’ll be lit for A&M

This is in reference to the student section. If you are 18-22 and care about postgame traffic, you are going to be one angry adult.

the problem is half of them are girls who have been drinking for 9 hours.
they just aren’t going to make it the whole game

I also hate that people left but I'm not sure how you fix it. I was at the Florida game and everyone stayed. Idk what the difference between the games were given that both opponents were average SEC teams but fans staryed one week and didn't the other week.

Maybe they were trying to avoid being shot while returning to their vehicles.

If you don’t know the difference between Florida and USCjr as an LSU fan idk what to tell you

They had all left to go hang around the northgate and get a sandwich and coffee..
Posted on 10/13/25 at 2:58 pm to jwingert77
The pledges stayed to the end.

I know it’s been fun shitting on the fans that left, but they stadium was packed and wild for Florida.

Every year for homecoming, the student section empties out after halftime apparently so they can all get to the party early.

i see these post every year. i am a die hard fan. i want to see every snap. my wife is not. she was drunk and tired from having fun all day. people bring kids that cant make it the whole time. people leave for various reasons. who cares.

10 to 30 years ago,
There was no other decent way to watch games.
Campus was safer
And we have posters in here complaining that the students party too much and are too drunk to attend the games. This is just another old man thread

One of them was before people gave up on the team after Ole Miss and the other was after

Actually the student section around the band and in the NEZ is fairly full and those students tend to stay. I have noticed a better quality student in those sections this year as well.

Almost every seat in the house was filled at kick off. This is a problem of people leaving.
The bleachers behind LSU bench looked atrocious after half time

I hate what gamedays have become. True fans have been forced out by greed. People show up for photo ops and to get drunk. The people I know that still attend games all leave at halftime, regardless of the opponent or score.
When I was a kid getting into football in the early 2000s Saban era, it was a privilege to go to a game. We tailgated in our free tailgating spot with hundreds of others in the Hayfield lot with a modest setup. Stayed the whole game and came back to tailgate a little more while traffic eased up. People dressed normal and could handle their alcohol.
I don’t recognize gamedays anymore.
