Remove the Nuss pre-season expectations and the goal line int Saturday

That play is good enough to win the NC with our defense. He can Matt Mauck us to a NC or playoff at worst. We are closer than many people want to believe(for some reason).
People forget he has 14 interceptions the NC year. He was a better runner than Nuss but Nuss is a better passer.

Bonehead play is going to lose your games against good teams. SC is not a good team. They're worse than LSU at everything. Also, it should be concerning defense is starting to pile injuries up. DL got gashed on quite a few runs focusing on Sellers let RBs run free. The DL has several injuries now and it's starting to pile up. Gooden and Butler got hurt which I think they getting MRIs today? Better hope they're not hurt badly we're starting to get thin especially at DE.
If they beat Vandy this weekend TAMU is going to be a battle at home. They're arguably the best looking team right now in SEC week-to-week. They look to keep improving. Lucky for us this one is at home. TAMU made Nuss one of his worst games last year. Their defense is good this year too. In fact, if you look at their defense right now historically teams can't convert 3rd down on them. Their offense looks good with Reed and their WRs, however Moss got hurt I don't know how significant. That will hurt TAMU big if he's out for an extended period.

No it’s not. He doesn’t have the weapons to coast like that. He has to be the weapon, but he’s been the total opposite.

The game has changed just a little bit since 2003. Nuss, and the offense as a whole, is not playing anywhere near well enough to make the playoffs much less win a championship.
We are staring at at least 2 (more likely 3) more losses.

Defense is good but you'll know how good and "elite" they are the next 4 SEC games. They play all the top offenses in SEC. Arkansas has been doing great lately as well. Offense better find some points!

We're a good enough team to withstand 1 bad decision against pretty much any team in the country if he's gonna also throw for an efficient 250+ and 2 TDs. 2 bad decisions, however, can be enough to cost us games when we play teams more capable on offense.

But why is he making poor decisions?
He’s trying to do too much, the receivers dropped too many balls on Saturday this was easily a 35-10 game. The real issue is figuring out why the inconsistency in execution on offense.

Looking at the rest of college football there really isn't a team that absolutely scares the crap out of you. Miami is good, but only beat FSU by 6. The OSU's defense is incredible, but offense is just okay. Oregon looks streaky, and even Auburn had a chance vs UGA.
Does LSU need to play better on offense.....? 100%
Do we have the athletes to cause match up problems? 100%
Realistically if we score 28 points we could win every game left on our schedule.

Lester do you really not think we've improved on offense?
I felt significantly better leaving the game on Saturday than I have at any point this season. The Johnson fumble is not something that you can take into account in terms of "offensive failure" imo. That was simply a player fricking up. You can't take that into next week as a weakness. I'm doing a poor job of articulating this but I think you know what I mean.
The first Nuss INT was not nearly as bad as many on here are saying, in my opinion. He tried to make a play on third and long when the alternative was punting. It was a tough, layered throw, that he made while rolling to his left Did he have time to set his feet? Possibly. But I personally didn't view that play as a negative. Also, if Hilton does his job (something he should not have the oppurtunity to do the remainder of the season. That should be Watkins in that role from here on out) then that pass never even has to be thrown and Nuss has 70+ more yards and a TD.
The goal line INT was horrendous. No two ways about it. I could see the safety pre snap, and I knew that's where Nuss wanted to go, so I have no idea what he was looking at. Also, that play shouldn't have been called. Sloan called a MUCH better game Saturday, but there's no excuse to not isolate Trey'Dez anytime you're in the redzone. He is ungaurdable. Him being the read player there is stupid. I don't know why they wouldn't line hm up on the outside and have Parker on the inside and then run that play. That safety wouldn't have been there if they just flipped the alignment.
The running game wasn't perfect, but it was much better. The inside zone was effective. Still, Caden Durham is not seeing holes. I sit in the south endzone. There were multiple times where I'm seeing a visible hole that he would either hit too slowly, or cut away from. I don't understand it.
All in all, I thought there was marked improvement of the offense, even without Aaron Anderson, and Zavion/Barion having minimal impact. The offense we saw Saturday, in my opinion, is very close to one that can (while paired with this defense) get you where you want to be. It's not quite there yet, but it's close.

2003 defense was better although I like our defense this year. 2003 offense could run the ball really well. 2025 has work to do especially on the O line. It could happen, but we have a lot of work to do on offense.

Nuss was better minus the dumb picks, but those dumb picks cost you the game against better teams.
The 2003 team had an awesome running game with Justin Vincent, Alley Broussard, Joseph Addai and Shyrone Carey. We don't have that this year. The 2003 team also had the best pure defensive team LSU has ever had. This year's D is playing great. We're not quite on the 2003 D level yet though.
Mauck had 28 TDs and 14 picks. So he did have a ton of picks, but he had a lot of TDs too. Nuss is currently at 9 TDs and 5 picks. He needs way more TDs for LSU to realistically compete with the best with this running game.

With the exception of the Florida upset, LSU blew out everybody but UGA and Ole Miss. during the regular season.
LSU rushed for over 150 yards in every game but 2 that year, including post season.

The two ints were bad. I totally disagree with you on the 1st one. It encapsulates the issue with Nuss.
If you aren’t going to manage the game & take what is there, you have to make that throw & similar plays like it.
Otherwise you are not a game manager nor are you this risk-taking gunslinger who produces big plays.
Mind you, on the 2nd down right before that, he misses a wide open WR along the left sideline that is standing there wide open.
Both WRs, wide open. Drive ends on INT. Same drive had that magnificent throw to Durham on the sideline. Just so much up and down, there is never any middle ground with Nuss. This is the 5th year of the same exact thing.
