Go Back To Your Preseason Expectations: If Someone Told You That At The Halfway Point…

LSU would be 5-1 and ranked in the Top 10 every single one of you would have taken it and you fricking know it.
I don’t get people being upset about shite that hasn’t happened yet. I truly hope you have more happiness in your real life then you do in your fandom of the team you follow.
Yeah man if we lose 2 out the next 3 like many here have penciled in, everyone has a right to be pissed. Until that actually happens what the frick are yall so mad about?
I know I will get downvoted to death. I also know that this offense has underperformed and that’s probably an understatement. But I also know that if ANYONE who reads this would have heard 5-1 at the midway point you would have taken that in a heartbeat.

People are upset because the adjustments that need to be made to prepare for these future games are not being addressed.
Why are we playing our QB when it’s obvious he is hurt in games like La Tech and Southeastern? Why is our 5th year QB making freshman level mistakes resulting in turnovers? Why is our O-line as soft as charmin? Why is our play caller retarded? Simple things like this are frustrating.

I hate that the offense isn't performing up to expectation, but if you gave me a preference of the 2023 offense/defense or this year's offense/defense, I am taking this year's every time.
LSU defense is elite, the special teams is great, and the offense has the ability to make enough plays to win.
In 2023, you knew if the other team got the ball back with the chance to go ahead with at least 1 minute on the clock, we were losing. Having no defense sucks much worse than a struggling offense.

Why are we still running RPO’s with a QB that cannot run?
This is the issue with our fanbase and to be fair many fans of the sport.
Please explain to everyone what the frick running RPO has to do with the quarterback’s running ability.

When the smart man from Cut Off has a more logical take than 90% of you mouth breathers, it's time to step away from the keyboard.
Well said my man.

They have books here as well, but 90% are in Cajun French.

I think it's just hard seeing your team crumble in real time. We can all see the deficiencies.
Our O-line should have started to gel by now. Nuss has actually regressed. We needed a defense to go with our great offense...and we got one. But, the offense forgot to show up this year. We have a stellar WR room, a preseason heisman favorite QB, an excellent returning RB and a 5-star freshman RB. I think we all knew the O-line would need some time...and most of us see that's not going to happen until it's probably too late. I think our coaches just aren't that good...because the players aren't chumps. And we see teams all over the country doing more with less.
It just breaks our little purple and gold hearts.

When I hear football fans say stuff like that it’s the equivalent of me explaining the X&O’s of Lacrosse and try to sound smart.

If we beat Ole Miss you’d be saying were 6-0 but played zero decent teams. Anyone who loses to lsu must suck in you peoples minds

Nah, we know you speak truth. It’s trolls and idiots spamming the board. This place is not real life.

If you told me we’d be 5-1 without context I would’ve been pretty happy. If you had then provided context such as:
- Clemson is actually dog shite this year
- UF and SC would be a combined 5-5 outside of their games against LSU
- Our offense won’t score more than 23 points against any P4 opponent OR La Tech and looks consistently rudderless each game
- Our schedule is way more backloaded than originally expected
Then I’d be pretty concerned.

Last year we were 6-1 and #10 in the country going into the Texas A&M game.

We watched this show last year, except we lost the opener against a bad team and beat a better ole miss.
Was fools gold then, looks the same this year. Hope I'm wrong.

im glad were 5-1, really wanted to be 6-0 and we should be 6-0.
We're sitting in a good place right now, but theres also no way you can watch the team and think this is what they hired Kelly to produce. This is not a team that makes a run in the playoffs.
the one thing that really keeps me positive however, is that there doesnt really seem to be a dominant team this year. Seems to be pretty even across the board, with Ohio State and Indiana (lol) separating themselves.
That game last night also should have had a bigger margin of victory but the fumble and penalty screwed it up, which makes me feel better. Get that under control, which is definitely doable, and they roll last night.

I think you are confusing an RPO with a read option.

This is basically where I’m at. If you watch other teams run their offense it makes LSU look like a JV squad. Baker and the defense are keeping us afloat but it’s just not sustainable without massive improvements from the O and I don’t think that’s realistic with Sloan and Nuss running the show.

Wrong, Nuss has been injured, we replaced a whole O-line
