Do you think we do not presently train foreign troops on U.S. soil? I understand that you are mouth breather and spout what you are told ("Muh, them katardies has thems a new fort, un huh"). CONUS training of foreign military personnel has been going on since at least WW2 with all previous administrations since that time. It is part of FMS.
This is not a separate Qatar military base, and the installation will remain under U.S. jurisdiction. The announcement is a result of a long-term agreement between the two nations, which dates back to at least 2017.
Location: The facility will be located at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, a U.S. installation that already hosts other allied forces, including a squadron from Singapore. The location was chosen partly because its desert plateau topography is similar to that of Qatar.
Funding: Qatar will fund the construction and maintenance of the new facilities. The project has been in the works for several years. This means that Qatar will fund the hangers, classrooms, and housing for their personnel.
U.S. control: The U.S. will maintain control over the base and all security. Qatari personnel and aircraft will be hosted within the U.S.-controlled facility.

The only people I see crying about it is all Pro Israel. Mark Levin was ranting and raving about it on XM radio. Trying to connect the Qatari Government with 9/11. It's just interesting to watch the Pro Israel group go after the Pro Qatari group. I think both groups having influence over US politicians is a bad thing. Though one side seem to be Deal makers and the other side being a bunch of warmongers.

Qatar has the largest US base in the region. They are more important to us than Singapore. We have more fighter jets in one air wing in their country than their entire air force.

My only real concern with it is having moslims pushing their cult shite into a place like Idaho. Calls to prayers, etc. I dont care for how our govt tip toes around their beliefs. Over ours. We really need our leaders to understand their approaches, and see how letting their nose under the tent will end up bad for us eventually.

Moslims aren't warmongers? One (moslims) is playing the long game.
Another (Israel) is crying out to not trust it long term, and let them get a move forward in our land. Warnings.
The 3rd (America) may or may not be naive about it. We may be or not be letting in more evil that will destroy us. Ie...In 10 years, if Idaho is a moslim stronghold, people complaining won't remember how it started.
There's a middle ground, but let's not be naive to the potential threat long term if we don't find a way to avoid having them stay here, and effect the local politics and demographic. Train and go back. No establishing of roots here for anyone allowed to come here.

Imagine this is an NFL trade:
Qatar sends:
-help brokering peace deal with Hamas
-strategic military alliance with US
-largest military base in the ME to the US
-helps broker peace with Hamas
-agrees to trade deal
-agrees to buy military equipment
US Sends:
-a small training field in Wyoming to train their pilots to use our jets
That’s legitimately what the arrangement is and these uninformed people and TDS lefties are trying to somehow paint this as a negative.
Qatar is a better alliance partner than Israel at this part in that region.
