Fried shrimp, good po-boy bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickle if you like them. Maybe some hot sauce if you like it.

If you can't manage that, drive down to "da Parish" and get one from Rocky & Carlos.

That's really all it takes

Put fried shrimp on french bread. If you like dress bread with mayonaise, lettuce and tomato and pickle if you like that.

I thought y'all put remoulade on your fried shrimp po boys?

ETA: Looking on the internet, this looks like something restaurants do in other states not how Louisiana does it. Sorry for the confusion

I only put Remoulade on Shrimp and fried green tomato poboys. I'll sometimes put cocktail sauce on my shrimp poboy though

I like hot sauce directly on the shrimp, so it soaks into the crust. Dressed with lettuce, pickle, onion, and tartar sauce.

I love remoulade or a good tartar sauce. I put either one of those on my shrimp poboy. I can’t imagine eating a plate of fried shrimp and dipping it in mayonnaise…not gonna do it with my poboy either.

I will often make a real quick sauce I use for fried seafood and it only has 5 ingredients.

Ketchup
Horseradish
A few spritzes of my homemade hot sauce
Fresh Lemon Juice
Salt

I use this with fried shrimp and catfish when I make a plate dinner.

I only add things I like the taste of to my stuff-------------hence no Lee & Perrins.

But you do you if it tastes good to you.

You know what tartar sauce is primarily made of, right?

Yes, but tartar sauce actually has some flavor. If folks like dill pickles on their poboys, what's wrong with mayonnaise that has chopped dill pickles in it?

I must be misreading your post, because it sounds like you like remoulade and tartar, but do not like mayo.

No, I like mayo on most sandwiches and burgers, just don't like it on a poboy. Whether it's a shrimp, catfish or oyster poboy...I prefer a remoulade or a good tartar sauce on my poboy.

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp Po-boy with cheese. I like provolone or pepper jack. Finely shredded lettuce, onion and tomato is optional. Good toasted Leidenheimer or Maggio's bread.
