It's not even about the money, even though that's substantial, it's about the principle. Illegals shouldn't be getting a dime of taxpayer money or taxpayer-funded services.

Most GOP'ers in Congress never had a problem with spending some money to give healthcare to illegal aliens. Rush Limbaugh talked about this notion of spending US tax dollars to give health care to illegal aliens more than 20 years ago. This has been happening via legal loopholes.
It recently STOPPED because of ONE man - Donald Trump, who isn't even really a Republican. The REAL Republicans dislike Trump and his policies.
It should be no surprise that many Congressional Republicans want to cave on this issue in order to end the Shutdown. Really it should not be a surprise.

Trump is so high on the peace deal that he loses his discipline on everything else.
