anything was better than having your qb go thru damn near spring practice and game, and then he bolts, monthsish before season starts.

make player decide after season is over(playoffs). then its open season, then shut that shite down till next season.

While this is needed, the clock is already ticking for when a player gets pissed they can't transfer and brings challenges this rule at the supreme court where the ruling will once again be that the NCAA has zero power.

Makes no sense. Do it in May. Nobody cares about spring ball anyway

Next change needs to be limiting players to one free transfer and that's it. These assholes playing for three or more teams is a joke.

So does this mean when a HC leaves that the players have a 30 day window too

Yeah I’d like some insight on how itll work for players that make it to championship game. Imagine being that a-hole that abandons your team right before the championship game because some other school offered you a shite load of money. I cant see a starter doing that, but nothing surprises me anymore with these selfish kids.

Penn State wasn’t in the championship game but their QB2 bounced during the playoffs

Will probably be challenged in court.

Why should the players be limited to only a 15 day window?

If the players don’t like it, then they don’t have to play.

Tell that to every player and lawyer that dismantled the NCAA over the past 10+ years.

I’m looking forward to the midseason transfers.

All this does it limit when their name goes in the portal and official contact can be made.

Players can still announce they are transferring at any time.

NCAA is going to end up contracts, and possibly an anti-trust exemption from Congress

Agreed. Anti-trust laws should never have been applied to college football. Congress never intended that when these laws were passed. Activist judges have led us to this point. Congress needs to step in and create an exemption for college athletics although getting a consensus to do this is probably politically impossible.

The timing of the transfer window is weird. IMO a transfer window opening on July 1st would work better. This move is not a perfect fix but it is a step in the right direction. So I support it.

agree with this.

i'm not opposed to NIL and I'm not opposed to transfer portal, they just shouldn't be the wild wild west.

No coach wants to waste time or reps on a player who can leave after spring practice.

This is a step in the right direction imo. They need to give players 5 years of eligibility and you get to play 5 seasons of college football only at all levels. That’s a hard and fast limit. Get injured? Oh well, life happens. From there you get ONE penalty free transfer and it has to be done in that transfer window. If you transfer a second time or transfer outside of that defined time period, you can not play that following season and it counts as one of your eligible years. That will fix a healthy share of the issues we have now.

Making those collectives illegal would pretty much fix the rest of the problems but that has to be done at the state level and unfortunately no state will do that so
