I was just at the grocery and the hold up was this women writing a check. Do you still write checks at places like the grocery store or pharmacy?

i have to for some things but a checkbook lasts me a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time these days
lets see this past week:
- landscaper check
- refinance co needed a voided check to attach to documents
so that was a banner week for me
outside of the landscapers and occasional contractor, there's almost no need for them.

Just my ego, for things my body can't cash.

I do for property taxes. TN charges extra if you use a card. I’m not paying a 5% fee on a $2K bill.

There's a need for checks, but we rarely use them.
Just wrote a check to pay the cleaning lady. She doesn't have Venmo.

no, but how sad is it that the Grocery store didn't have a way to print the check - Walmart had that shite available when I was working there in College back end of the 90's

I've written maybe 5 checks in my entire life and I'm over 30

Hell no and you're an a-hole if you do.

I did last month. I had to renew my passport and the location only accepted checks or money orders

There seems to be two or three occasions each year it is necessary for me to write a check.

taxes. mortgage. DMV. water. garbage. I would use other means if possible or was not charged a fee.

Same here, I'll write a check if they have any card fees. I'm not paying any extra, on any amount.

Occasionally for school things like field trips

I write one check and it's for my rent. Everything else is paid online.
