Heading to Cancun in a few weeks for the first time. Staying at an all inclusive resort for 4 nights. How much should I bring for tipping? I was thinking like $300 in $1,$5, and a few $10s. Does that sound right? Any tips would be appreciated.

at the bar, $1 per drink
in your room, $10/day (assuming you get daily housekeeping)
carry around 5's for drivers/bellmen/etc...$5 per service event

Good to have more than you need, probably more than you'll tip over the course of 4 days

Some All Inclusives advertise themselves as no tipping (which is of course a lie)

Every day at the pool bar or whenever, early on.. I’d bring my cup for them to fill up.. slide them a $20 with a look of.. I’m taking care of you.. they acknowledge it and keep me drunk.

I just got back and on a 3nt stay, I spent ~$175 in tips. I would leave a $5 for the waiter at each meal. Tipped roughly $1/drink throughout the day. $15 for the taxi driver each way down to playa del Carmen, etc.

Find the guy that is serving the beach chairs the first morning. Ask him if he's working during your stay, give him $100 up front. He *will* work every day you're there, and your trough of beers will be at your chairs before you get there. They're the most important people at the resort.

This is what I do, as well - Give pool bartender $20 when I get out there and I'm usually taken care of rest of the day.

All inclusive includes base tips but it doesn't hurt to drop $1 a drink. I always use pesos though.
Usually drop $20mx as a base tip.
$100mx for great service or if i want bartender to remeber me.

Weed there is trash. You'll pay $50 for an 8th with seeds. If you really really really can't go without i would bring a vape with you.
Don't bring flower you could alert the dogs.
I doubt they are adding powder fentnyl to weed but i wouldn't go skiing there either.

$20 to the pool bartender/beach server in the morning so I don't have to keep going back to my wallet for $1 every time I get a new drink.

$10 to the wait staff for sit-down meals.

$5 to bellhop/drivers.

$5 to bartender at the martini bar for a night cap.

Yep. We found a spot when we were there that was very close to one of the beach bars. We didn't even do anything super insane. Gave like a $20 tip the first time we ordered and then a couple bucks each additional order. Every day after that, they pretty much had our drinks waiting for us when we got there in the morning as we went to the same spot. Still tipped a little higher the first round and then just your normal couple bucks the rest of the time. They'd bring us lots of random stuff that was fantastic.

You really don't have to go insane on the tipping, just be consistent with it.

We are basic arse Americans. $1 for drinks, $5 for breakfast buffet if they're speedy with coffees and getting my kids chocolate milks, etc.... $10 for lunch, and $20 for dinner.

Yes, I know I already paid for the service. It feels good to help people that are likely poor AF.

EDIT: $15-20 for driver, especially if overly helpful with bags and/or car seats.

Pro Tip: Have a $10 or $20 for the porter when you leave the airport. Those dudes will muscle you through the line and tote all your shite around so you don't have to.
