Rush is an example of a band that should not continue without its original members.

If they are going tour again it should have been Mike Pourtnoy instead of this girl.

I think these guys know who best fits their music better than the rest of us. I trust their judgment.

If the rumors I’ve heard are true, they should never play with Portnoy. I heard, and the band confirmed it happened but didn’t name him, that Portnoy reached out asking if he could be considered to replace Pearl just a week or two after the death. They were not happy with him.

But, good for them on their tour. I won’t go. Geddy’s voice was absolutely shot 10 years ago, can’t imagine now. And they are old. Don’t care what the sycophant Rush fans say, they had lost it a bit when they were last touring. Ten years older.

I’ll choose to remember them as they were.

I had heard that story but didn't know it was Pourtnoy.

I think i'm done paying lots of money to watch geezers try to recreate their lost past. Jeff Lynne was the same way.

I cannot confirm, but heard his name from a few different folks. And he may not have been the only, could have been a few more.

I always thought they would end it Neil and if they did something it would be under a different title, but in the end, Rush is no different than anyone else and need that name attached to make that $$$

I wish it would have been Gavin Harrison, but I'm sure the actual band knows what is best.

This. I’m sure the guys who had one of the most incredible drummers that ever existed will choose a replacement worthy of honoring his memory.

Besides, Rush concerts have always been sausage fest. Maybe this will help balance it out a smidge.

Well John Rutsey hadn’t been in the band in over 50 years, yet somehow they soldiered on.
