Not me personally but one of the local banks had a team of bank examiners that packed up and left in the middle of the examination.

Nope.
Not a bit.
But I have friends who are essential and likely got the customary notice to continue serving - without pay and all leave being cancelled. Serious morale booster.
Then the non-essentials stay home and will get paid for their stay-cation.
This has happened many times over the past 30 years.
Maybe, this time will be different...

It’s all political stunts and I don’t give a shite about politics so it hasn’t affected me one bit.

To be honest I will get back pay once the shutdown ends, so you just need to be prepared for the possibility when your essential, and if not then that's on you.

It's just the way it is for a cushy govment job. People know this, or should know this, when they apply.

And yet they’re still there. So they accept this scenario. Good on them.

The only people who will probably notice the government is shut down, work for the government. The majority of working Americans- TAXPAYERS- will never feel a difference.
And if you notice, media aside, the only people crying over this are politicians.

Someone explain to me like I’m 5 why they have to shutdown parks and forts etc.Seems like it’s more of a punishment for the public because the damn ranger are still there not doing anything.

No, if you read what I posted it said I'm currently working with No Pay. Once the government shutdown ends I will be paid for the time worked. Oh and I have to go in to physically work.

One of the guys I hunt with got furloughed and he was hunting all the good spots while I was at work. Outrageous.
