What's your go to carry method working on the farm/land?

Clip & Carry STrapt Tac Belly Band

just ordered this, mostly cause of the hot model but i think it'll work well. Belly band carry. You'll still use your kydex holster in the band. I wanted something to keep my wasteband and pockets free. Nothing intruding mobility and sitting etc. And i didn't want something overly obvious of open carrying.

belly band is the most comfortable no matter where you are. Why you would care about what it looks like “on the farm” is beyond me

Interesting. How do you bend over without the pistol jamming into your sternum?

I just wear it on my hip in one of these. My gut's too big to add a pistol to the front of it.

Safariland ALS paddle holster usually. If I need to be concealed, I put my shirt over it and don't care if it prints a ton.

Why would you use a goofy thing like that when you're probably going to have real pants on and therefor can use a gun belt and regular stuff?

Why would I care about open carry on my own property?

I just put my Shield in a regular holster and go about my day. Its small enough to not interfere with ingress/egress on the ZT mower or cab tractor and its not uncomfortable. Most I'm going to run into is a snake or other varmint.

I do find the belly band holsters intriguing though, if I wanted to carry something larger framed.

Have you tried appendix carry?

I hope the gizmo works for you but man that looks awful to me, especially with real clothes on over it. I've never been bothered by a good belt holster like a galco combat master or glock sport combat, that that includes rolling around on/over/under all kinds of machinery and riding extended times in the seat.

I carry my Glock 20 in my Kenai chest holster nearly every day of the week (work in the woods and land a lot).

My Kenai holster is one of my most favorite pieces of outdoor gear I've ever owned - up their with my Filson Tin Cloth field jacket, leatherman free p2, thermacell, Bending Branches canoe paddles, etc. I cannot give enough praise to how much I love that thing.

smells good, too

But I don’t point a loaded 1911 at my unit either.

I have a leather IWB Bianci for the 1911, and stuff it around 5:24 or 10:55 depending on the sitch.

sure but it does dig in a bit and is way more uncomfortable than what this belly band holster offers. Its about as comfortable as it gets and extremely readily accessible.

Leather Blackhawk OWB holster holding my .38 with alternating solids and rat shot. Sometimes it is openly showing and sometimes it isn’t, but on my property, I don’t care.

I either carry a Ruger Vaquero in 45 colt or an Sig 226.
The Ruger has a shot shell for first shot in the summer for rattle snakes. Carry in a high quality western style holster. 45 rounds are hot w 250 grain hollow points.
The Sig is in an outside the waist band kydex holster.
I find the belt holster and Ruger to be very comfortable around the ranch. Doesn’t interfere w much and has enough stopping power for anything I may encounter.
In the winter it holds 6 rounds of very heavy 45 colt rounds.
Sometimes I carry a 454 or 460 in a kenai holster when deer hunting. I could not imagine that as an every day carry gun or holster. Gets in the way when doing chores and moving around.
