“Someone who says ‘I’m against abortion but says I am in favor of the death penalty’ is not really pro-life,” Leo said. “Someone who says that ‘I’m against abortion, but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States,’ I don’t know if that’s pro-life.”

Removing people here illegally is not inhumane.

It’s not like they are running them down and setting them on fire

I'm not a biblical scholar, but pretty sure the Bible allows for the death penalty.

Wrong! One murder is committed against a helpless, unborn child, yet to show us how they can contribute to society in a meaningful way.

The other failed and broke the laws of our land.

I agree with the Pope. Illegal immigrants should not be treated inhumanely. And I'm glad that they aren't being treated that way.

I agree with the pope. This is the Catholic doctrine.

Being pro-life is not exclusive to abortion. Being for the inhuman treatment of people or being for the death penalty is not aligned with the Church's teachings.

Note Pope Leo does not say the deportation of immigrants; he is saying the inhuman treatment of immigrants. He is not saying we shouldn't be against crime; he is saying we should have a culture of life.

In my opinion, nothing he said is new. It is subjective on how immigrants are treated, but crime is crime.

“Inhumane.” “Immigrants.” Another clown, woke Pope. Time to investigate the Catholic Church’s role in the invasion of our country.

Seems like Leo got caught up on semantics.

Pro-life is too broad of a term. We should stick with anti-abortion.

Joseph went to Bethlehem because it was the law. The law we is there to keep order in society.

There’s no order if people can come and go at will. There’s no way to keep order and make sure you provide public safety.

Can just anyone immigrate and setup shop in Vatican City by climbing over their walls uninvited and mooch on their dime?

He's right.

Sin is a personal matter.

For example the principle of double effect outlined by St. Thomas Aquintis and taught by the Catholic Church. That is, if the heart felt intention is to reach a good outcome but the the action also leads to evil, the overall action is necessarily good.

Ectopic pregnancy is the classic example. Doctors have the good intention of saving the mothers life but in the process the fetus is killed.

You're right, he didn't as far as the quote in the OP goes, but he needs to clarify on whether or not he thinks laws should be broken and that borders shouldn't exist (the Bible explicitly lays out borders of countries and their importance in Scripture), or otherwise clarify that he's going to be another infallible communist universalist like his prior predecessor.

Its long been Catholic Doctrine that the death penalty is not right.

I don't agree, and fully recognize the incongruity between the Pro Life and Pro Death Penalty stance.

I just don't care

Right. They are just being sent back home. If they want to come back, come back legally.

The intention of removing illegal aliens is law and order.
