Depends on the manufacturer.

For Samsung the nearest place was Hammond a few years ago.

Most have average reviews at best. Avoid Nathan's Appliance Repair.

Not solar repair. Didn’t put down cardboard when moving the stove like we asked and scratched floors. When I called to report they said that we signed something waiving them of responsibly. Asked wife as she was home and she said they presented her with just a signature line and was told by the technician it was confirming they were here to fix the appliance. Yes she should have looked but the dishonesty / pulling one over on the customer didn’t sit well.

Thanks for the look outs. Def won’t use those companies.

It is a Samsung.

Any pics of the ice maker? Is it in door? My Samsung ice maker fails once per year. I can change in 5 minutes. If it's similar I can tell you how to do it.

Might be cheaper to just replace ice maker.

I’m not home to take a pic but it’s a tray that catches ice as it falls in the freezer. The panel that freezes the water seems to have cracked off and is hanging by the wires.

A&R Appliance Repair in Marrero.

Have been using them for years. They are nice and don't rip you off.

Go to YouTube and fix it or replace it yourself.

I promise you can do it and you'll feel great about it.

Cheaper to replace whole icemaker yourself

Probably a couple hundred for part

Usually it takes less than 10 min depending on model

This is why i only buy basic arse appliances like whirlpool or something, easy to swap stuff out

Feel sorry for all the baws whose wives demanded viking or subzero

Always use Broussard Appliance Service. They’ve been great.

Oh that's an easy fix. Sounds like possibly a Frigidare. Needs a new icemaker assembly.
Post your model number and I'll let you know what it'll cost.
I do not as a rule take jobs from this website but I'll walk people through repairs. I have a local company but I'm recovering from a medical issue and not going back to work until monday.

I always liked Broussard i don't know the new owners though. They do have great techs.

Old sub zeros used whirlpool ice makers. They used to be like Speed Queen. New sub zeros you can't even get parts for unless you have the license. My fridge is a 1998 sub zero still kicking arse. Two compressors it gets frigid and stays cold a day without power.
