The part newsome is missing is that what Hakeem and chuck were saying made them look like clowns so the absurdity fit.
What Vance is saying is not absurd, which makes newsome look like a clown for deriding Americans through his portrayal of Vance in this clip.

Ever since Trump came down the escalator 10 years ago, his opponents have tried to find the best way to counter him.
One extreme: Act like you're "above it all" and a little condescending toward Trump's "antics". Used in 2015 by Rand, Jeb, and others including Hillary in 2016
The other extreme: Try to be more insulating than Trump.. Beat him at his own game. Used late in the primary by Rubio ("hand size"), somewhat by Biden, and now by Newsom

I hope JD does as it takes away any point they try to make. The scene in Clear and Present Danger when Harrison Ford tells the president what wording he should use about his dead friend ,who was in bed with the cartel and murdered, was on point. When they asked if was a friend then reply no he was was a good friend. When given a chance always build it up to undercut their next move

All they had to do was ignore him.
Seriously the guy thrives on any kind of attention, even the kind of attention that has people shooting at him and trying to jail him. And JD is pretty unflappable, too.
Had they just ignored him in 2016 and not had a camera follow him all day every day, the man would still be on NBC and we'd be hanging pictures of Kamala in our house.
