Vindicator Article

The original story is that a mother gave her 3 children (ages 6, 11, and 15) vodka and Nyquil and then tried to drown them in a pond on their property. The dad heard screams, came outside and got the kids out of the water, left the mom in the pond and called 911.

The house (ranch/rural mansion) where this happened outside of Dayton, TX:

KENEFICK– A terrifying event unfolded on Monday morning, after several individuals were pulled from a pond at a home near Simmons Bottom.

A call came into law enforcement around 6 a.m., Monday, Sept. 29, and upon arrival, they found three children who had been pulled from a pond, while the mother was still submerged in water.

As for the drowning incident itself, according to Meyers, when deputies arrived on scene, they found the woman was still in the water, but that a man on the property, identified as the father, had already pulled the children from the water.

According to Meyers, the father called 911, stating he heard “commotion in the front yard,” and indicated the mother was trying to harm the children.

At that time, he drove to the area and began to pull the children from the water.

The three children included a 15-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old boy.

The 15 and 6-year-olds were transported by ambulance; the woman and 11-year-old were transported by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

The woman and the 11-year-old girl are both in critical condition, while the other two children were alert.

Meyers said the man had been cooperating with authorities during their investigation, including accompanying law enforcement to the LCSO for an interview by the Texas Rangers. He was released at some point during the day and transported to a family member’s home.

quote:

Meyers said LCSO is unsure if alcohol or medicine was involved, noting an additional warrant is needed to check the blood-alcohol levels of those related.

According to Meyers, the children were not enrolled in school, and the family had resided at the property since around 2017.

The children have not been enrolled in school “for a little bit,” according to Meyers.

LCSO has made one call to the house in the past, and Meyers said it was related to an assault, but was unsure if the fa

Then today, the dad is arrested on "unrelated charges" for animal cruelty. I believe the mom and kids are alive in the hospital.

Sounds like an episode of Narcos.

I drive out there occasionally for work and to grab a few good bottles of bourbon. There’s not shite out there for the most part.

So mom tries to poison and drown the kids and dad is an animal abuser?

Kill both of them. Give the kids to Memaw.

My initial reaction is this is a dad trying to kill his wife and going to great lengths to make himself a hero doing it

But with an 11 and 15 year old that seems challenging (unless drugged). With wife alive, all the more so.

Seems highly unlikely he would be charged with anything in the midst of this if they bought the story.

Seems likely to shake out soon

Nope.

Kids are not in school. Locals who have been commenting online have no idea who these people are. It sounds like they've been hiding out on the compound.

If the lights are in sync you can get through Liberty County pretty quickly and even take note of the famous Cookies Soul Food Kitchen.

I grew up in Hardin County right next door. Batson/Saratoga area. Old oil towns from the turn of the 20th century. Saratoga has like 300 people living there, and had an episode of Expedition X filmed there.

There is NOTHING in the areas between cities in the Dayton and Liberty areas.

I've seen this place before. Looked almost abandoned last I went through there, granted that was around 6 months to a year back.
